Henry Wilkinson, Director and Head of Intelligence & Analysis, The Risk Advisory Group

Henry has worked for Risk Advisory since 2006, where he leads the group’s worldwide security, strategic and political risk intelligence and analysis services, consultancy work, and its Security Intelligence & Analysis Service (SIAS). Henry is a specialist on geopolitical risks and security affairs. He has travelled and worked in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and North and Latin America, carrying out ground level research and speaking with those shaping events. Henry has worked on scores of security and political risks projects, supporting decision makers with intelligence and assessments, and enabling international businesses and organisations to invest and operate in counties all over the world. As an authority in his field, Henry has also authored papers on terrorism, geopolitics, and assessments methodology for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Lloyd’s of London, and given testimony to UK parliamentary committees on security and international relations strategy.

Andrew Nicholson, CEO, Osprey

Andrew studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manchester before joining the Royal Navy. After several deployments he was seconded to the Royal Marines, attending the All Arms Commando Course before joining UK Special Forces in 2006. Over the following years Andrew saw operations in a broad range of theatres, including Iraq and Afghanistan and counter-piracy work off East Africa. Leaving the forces at the height of the Somali piracy phenomenon, Andrew moved into the commercial sector to manage offshore security for a number of major oil and gas companies before taking up a position as head of maritime and aviation security for International SOS and Control Risks in 2014. As an advocate of both an holistic, data-led approach to risk management and the use of technology to improve the standards of risk management support to the aviation industry, Andrew has pioneered new approaches to aviation risk assessment in order to support operators with services that are truly aligned with their operational needs. Advanced computing techniques including data-analytics and AI play a fundamental role in this and form the backbone of the concept behind Osprey. His goal is to develop the systems and infrastructure that enable every operator, no matter their size and what resources they have, to access the information they need to achieve their highest priority; to keep crew and

passengers safe when travelling by air.

James Gooding, Director of Global Intelligence, Intercontinental Hotel Group

James spent 16 years in the UK Ministry of Defence working on a range of national security and defence issues before joining InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) as the Director of Global Intelligence where he runs IHG’s international intelligence programme, providing threat intelligence and assessments that enable IHG to position its business, objectives and assets to be resilient to a range of threats and challenges.

Andy Blackwell, Managing Director, Blackwell Security Consulting

Andy was formerly Head of Security with Virgin Atlantic, where he was responsible for all aspects of the airline’s security programme, including Security Management Systems (SeMS) implementation and development. Prior to joining Virgin Atlantic, Andy was UK Security Manager and Lead Threat Assessor with DHL. He has a law enforcement and criminal intelligence background, with previous service with UK Customs, British Transport Police, the National Criminal Intelligence Service and the National Drugs Intelligence Service of the Czech Republic.Andy is now Managing Director of Blackwell Security Consulting. He is a Registered Independent Security Consultant with the Association of Security Consultants and holds full membership of the Emergency Planning Society. Andy is a member of the Advisory Council of International Security Expo, the Advisory Board of International Airport Review, the Editorial Advisory Panel of Aviation Security International magazine, and the Security Committee of Project Griffin International (InterportPolice). Andy is a subject matter expert on SeMS and a wide range of travel and transport security matters. He has recently provided support to the UK CPNI’s SeMS Study by managing the case sites and providing content to the project team. He is a regular speaker at international security events and has authored many published articles on SeMS and other security related topics.Andy is one of the founders of 3DAssurance which was formed specifically to deliver SeMS and risk assurance support and is currently active in supporting SeMS projects in aviation and retail sectors. 3DA also deliver public training in Europe and the Middle East on SeMS, from executive awareness presentations to in-depth practical implementation training. Andy also acts as Transport Security Advisor with ISARR, who provide a range of web-based management information and operational tools for Intelligence, Security and Risk Resilience Leaders. He is a Non-Executive Director with Osprey Flight Solutions, which fuses the best of human and technical capability to provide the highest level of support to operators in understanding and mitigating the threats to their crew, passengers and aircraft.Andy has been commended by the Metropolitan Police for demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and providing an exceptional level of service during a period of heightened threat against civil aviation interests.
