Day 01 :- Arrive Chennai (Madras).

Day 02 :- Chennai - Trichy (Tiruchirapalli)

Morning arr ive tr ichy and transfer to hotel . Afternoon tour of tr ichy. Tr ichy was the c i tadel of the chola dynasty in the medieval period. In the 18th century i t witnessed the carnat ic wars fought between the french and the engl ish. Lord robert c l ive 's house is st i l l there to see and so is the danish church. The rock- fort is the landmark of tr ichy. A c l imb of 434 steps leads to the ancient temple of ganapat i on top and a further c l imb to a shiva temple. Overnight tr ichy.  

Day 03 :- Trichy

Morning dr ive to madurai v is i t ing tanjore enroute. At tanjore, the beaut i fu l chola temple of br ihadeshwara is capped by a monol i th ic cupola made of a s ingle granite block weighing 80 tons which was taken to the top with the help of a 6 km long ramp, an o ld technique used by the egypt ians for bui ld ing pyramids. I ts bronzes and handicrafts make tanjore one of the highl ights of a v is i t to south india . Overnight madurai .  

Day 04 :- Trichy - Madurai

Morning vis i t the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with i ts towering gopurams (r is ing high above the surrounding country s ide) . Later, v is i t the Tirumala Nayak Palace - A gracious bui ld ing in the Indo saracenic sty le , famous for the Stucco work on i ts domes & arches. Also v is i t the Alagar Hi l ls and Tirupara Kundran Rock temple. Afternoon free. Overnight Madurai .

Day 05 :- Madurai

Morning dr ive to per iyar nat ional park. Free t ime for game viewing. Set up in 1934, i t extends to 777 square kms & forms part of the high mountain ranges, the western ghats . Wi ld l i fe can be seen whi le cruis ing on periyar lake in a motor boat . Amongst the animals which can be seen are e lephants , wi ld boar, sambar, t iger, leopard, wi ld dog, langur monkeys, etc . Overnight per iyar.  

Day 06 :- Madurai - Periyar (Thekkady) 

Drive to Cochin. Overnight Cochin .

Day 07 :- Periyar - Cochin (Kochi)

Morning tour of Cochin. Cochin is the natural harbour created by the famed underwater Malabar mud-banks whose qual i ty ensures that the rougher the seas are outs ide the calmer the waters are within the Harbour. Vasco-de-Gama placed i t on the world map. I t has a Jewish synagogue, Portuguese churches, mosques & Hindu temples. Watch the Chinese Fishing Nets . Afternoon free. Overnight Cochin.  

Day 08 :- Cochin

Morning transfer to a irport for Bangalore fl ight . Arr ive Bangalore and dr ive direct ly to Mysore. Overnight Mysore.

Day 09 :- Cochin -  Bangalore -  Mysore

Morning vis i t the palace of the maharaja bui l t in 1911-12. The palace is of harmonious syntheses of the hindu and saracenic sty les of architecture with archways, domes, turrets , colonnades and sculptures which are magnifi cent . Vis i t the art gal lery; dr ive upto chamundi h i l l to see chamundeshwari temple & a panoramic v iew of mysore. On the way back, see the nandi bul l .   Afternoon free. Overnight mysore.  

Day 10 :- Mysore

Drive to hassan. Ful l day excurs ion to belur and halebid. The chenna kesava temple of belur bui l t 900 years ago is an exquis i te example of hoysala art . Halebid 's 12th century hoysaleswara. Hoysaleswara and kedareswara temples are master pieces of h indu art . On the return, i f t ime permits , v is i t sravanbelgola . At sravanbelgola , hewn out of a s ingle rock and vis ib le from a distance of 25 kms is the statue of lord gomteshwara which is bathed with mi lk and honey once every 12 years . Overnight hassan.

Day 11 :- Mysore - Belur  - Halebid Hassan

Morning dr ive to hospet . Vis i t hampi . The once beaut i fu l capita l c i ty of v i jayanagar empire - greater than rome, had palaces, temples & sculptures, spread a l l over. The c ity was razed to the ground by the sultanates of south in 1565. Some of the interest ing ruins remaining are the v irupaksha, v i t ta la and hazara rama temples huge ganesha and narasimha images, the e lephant stables , the queen's bath, carvings on the ramachandra temple & lotus mahal . Overnight hospet .  

Day 12 :- Hassan - Hospet

Day 13 :- Hospet - Badami

Morning tour of badami. Badami a lso known as vatapi is r ich with hindu and ja in temples carved out of sand stone hi l ls . The carved temples date back to the 6th century. Of these, three are hindu and one ja in . Sculptured out of so l id rock they are adorned with carvings. The fort , on top of a h i l l encloses large granaries , treasury & a watch tower. The malegit t i shivalaya temple set on the summit of a h i l l is bui l t of s tones without mortar. Overnight badami.

Transfer to airport for mumbai fl ight. Arrive at the mumbai domestic airport. Transfer to the city centre. Later in the evening transfer to international airport.  End of our services
