France

•Make them pay!!!!•They made us pay in 1871!!!!!!! •Time for some pay backs!!!!•They damages all of our mines, lands, cities- they owe us big time.•We need them weakened- bring them to their knees.

Great Britain

•They need to pay something•We will take their colonies•They cannot get strong again•Lets not crush them – why crush them when we can trade with them? We don’t want to hurt our own economy. We may not have suffered damage like the French but – Germany must pay for all of the widows, orphans, and men unable to work because of injuries

United States

•Let’s not destroy Germany – we need a trading partner•They should pay for the damage that they caused•This is a European problem

Compare and/or Contrast the Treaty of Versailles with the Congress of Vienna

Why do you think the victors were tougher on Germany than they were on France?

The Congress of Vienna lead to a pro-longed period of peace, we know that the Treaty of Versailles will not have the same success. Why do you think the Treaty could not prevent a

future war?
