SCS Classroom News
Our school year has been off to a busy start! We celebrated the first day of school
by kicking off a new theme for this school year ~ ROCK ~ which stands for
Revival Of Catholic Kids! We have a theme song, bible verse, wrist bands, and
have added the “Shield of Faith” to our logo for this year (which comes from the
Armor of God)! This theme will be integrated into all we do throughout the school
year!
We also had the kick off for our 40th Knights of Columbus Marathon! What a
blessing this event has been to our school for so many years! This special event
will be held on Friday September 28, beginning at Noon with a parade through
downtown leading us to Half Moon Park! All are welcome to come and cheer on
our students as they walk/run around their route through the park for two hours!
The kids are excited to start working and receiving donations for the marathon to
help support our school!
The week didn’t stop there! We took a field trip to Farming of Yesteryear in
Kiester! Our students had a fantastic day watching demonstrations of threshing,
small & big engines, blacksmith work, corn shelling rope making and so much
more! This event also serves as a fundraiser for our school. We will have a food
stand at this event throughout the weekend where we will serve walking tacos,
nachos, and popcorn! Come, visit, and enjoy lunch while seeing all Farming of
Yesteryear has to offer!
We thank each and every one of you for ALL of your generous support for the
children of St. Casimir’s School! Whether it be a tangible item, cash donation, or
prayers; it is ALL very much appreciated! We have already had such a
phenomenal outpouring of support and donations! We know God has even more
surprises in store for us! Come join us at SCS and see what we’re all about!

From the Heart by Fr. Fasnacht
“The apostles gathered together with Jesus and reported all they had
done and taught. He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place
and rest a while.” People were coming and going in great numbers, and they had
no opportunity even to eat. So they went off in the boat by themselves to a deserted
place.” Mk 6:30-32
We need silence in our life to draw up to the surface all the problems and
wounds in our soul. If you spend time in silence with Jesus, all the resistance you
have to God will also come up. This is precisely why many people hate silence
and look for things to distract them. They seek distraction because they do not
want to face the pain of their spiritual problems so they go looking for things to
numb the pain of emptiness.
We need to be having daily periods of silence with the Lord. For example:
turn off the TV, radio, computer, phone more and spend some silent time in prayer
speaking and listening to God. Include some scripture in your prayer. Jesus
frequently took the disciples off to a quiet place in the desert to be with him.
Why? Because we need quiet and silence to draw up all that hides in our hearts.
Silence allows the muddy waters of our heart to settle and become clear. Silence
forces emotions and thoughts to the surface. Noise and distraction allow our issues
to remain hidden in the dark.
God bless,
Fr. Fasnacht
