RAMTEC Robotics and Automation Training

Introduction to PLCs/PACs using ControlLogixThis course introduces the concepts of Programmable Logic Controllers and Programmable Automation Controllers via a combination of wiring, programming, and troubleshooting exercises. These topics will expose the student to the various ways that inputs and outputs are handled within the Controller, how to navigate the logic, and how to locate each of these components within a project. When finished with this course, the student will have the knowledge necessary to connect to an existing controller, navigate the logic, and troubleshoot both digital and analog I/O.35 hours—5 days—$1,250. 8am-4pm.

Ethernet/IP Network Configuration and TroubleshootingThis class exposes the students to various methods of configuring and troubleshooting an Ethernet/IP based automation network. From replacing components in a faulted system to adding nodes to an existing network, the students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to take the guess work out of the modern industrial network allowing for efficient troubleshooting and repair.21 hours—3 days—$895. 8am-4pm

Programming Human-to-Machine-Interfaces PanelView Plus HMIs & FactoryTalk View Studio This course serves to introduce the students to the creation, modification, navigation, and installation of PanelView Plus HMIs using FactoryTalk View Studio. Through programming exercises the student will learn how data is passed to and from a ControlLogix processor and connected in the displays that the operators use. These same exercises will enable the student to take an existing project, restore it, and troubleshoot it to assist in locating the relevant Logic in the PLC which can reduce or eliminate downtime. 21 hours—3 days—$895. 8am-4pm

Configuring and Troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives This course teaches the skills necessary for configuring and troubleshooting both open and closed loop Variable Frequency Drives. Students will learn how control and status information is exchanged with the drive, and how to access this data to assist with troubleshooting and performance tracking. The configuration of Emergency Stops, hard-wired and networked, will be covered and basic load and condition monitoring concepts are introduced. The student will also be able to issue manual motion commands via Studio5000 and more efficiently interpret existing motion programming to aid in troubleshooting. 21 hours—3 days—$895. 8am-4pm

Introduction to GuardLogix PACsThis course teaches the skills necessary for configuring and troubleshooting an Allen-Bradley GuardLogix Based safety system. The student will be exposed to the process of configuring a system from scratch in Studio5000 while simultaneously wiring the appropriate I/O to create a functioning system. Once a basic E-Stop is wired, programmed, and proven to function, the students will use that input to control the Safe Torque Off of Variable Frequency Drives via both hardwired outputs and Ethernet/IP networked messaging. 21 hours—3 days—$895. 8am-4pm

Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting This course starts with exploring the principles of a basic motor control system, how it is documented, and how to troubleshoot it both with and without proper schematics. These exercises continue, but with systems of greater complexity that include Analog I/O, Safety I/O, and Ethernet networking. All troubleshooting exercises emphasize the importance of data based decision making while troubleshooting and teach various methods of extracting data from the system to allow us to make good decisions. By the end of the course, students will understand where to start in looking for a problem and how to navigate between the prints, programs, and physical world to get the machine running as quickly as possible. 35 hours—5 days—$1.250. 8am-4pm

Refunds to the Federal Financial Aid programs (Pell Grants, Stafford Direct Loans) will be made according to the Federal Return of Title IV Funds Policy and are based upon the number of weeks and/or hours the student attended. Please note that students may be required to repay Pell Grant/Student Loan Funds received for attendance in addition to any funds which are required to be returned by the school. Federal regulations require a refund calculation for all students receiving Title IV funds who withdraw before completing their training program. If a student has completed more than 60% of the payment period, he or she is considered to have earned 100% of the Title IV aid received for the payment period. In this case no funds need to be returned to the Title IV aid programs. However, if a student officially or unofficially withdraws before completing more than 60% of the payment period or period of enrollment, the amount of any Title IV grant and loan aid the student received for the payment period must be re-calculated to reflect the portion of the payment period that he or she completed prior to withdrawal. The unearned Title IV grant and loan aid for the percentage of the payment period not completed must be returned to the applicable Title IV aid programs.Students in a full-time program receiving Title IV aid will receive a refund based on the percentage of hours completed. The calculation is determined by:

Hours Scheduled to Complete

Total Hours in the Payment Period = _____ %

The calculated percentage of the payment period or period of enrollment completed becomes the percentage of the Title IV aid that the student has earned. The total Title IV aid disbursed to the student, or that could have been disbursed to the student, minus the amount of Title IV aid earned by the student yields the amount of Title IV grant and loan aid that is unearned and that must be returned.Refund Policy – Non-Title IV AidStudents withdrawing from a program class will be refunded tuition and /or lab fees within 45 days from date of determination based on the following refund policy:
