Dear Student Thank you for enrolling in Trilogy Cultural Arts! We look forward to the new semester with you! There are a few opportunities we wanted our students to be aware of as they become involved at Trilogy.
Theatre Students If you are enrolled in a theatre class there is a dress code. All classes under the Theatre School will be required to dress in all black. Ideally this would be a black t-shirt with black sweat pants or jazz pants. This allows freedom of movement during class activities. We require all students to wear gym shoes (no flip flops) when not in class. All students enrolled in Trilogy theatre classes are eligible to audition for our fall production . See audition information below.
Dance Students Dance students have mandatory dress codes. so please check before you purchase any items. We ask that all students remain covered in sweats or dance wear warm ups and street shoes when not in class. There is a changing room directly in the studio. Students enrolled in Trilogy dance classes are eligible to audition for our fall production. Ballet students will be cast in our dance production., (excluding Pre-Ballet and Combo classes). See audition information below.
Music Students If you are enrolled in any of Trilogy’s Vocal Talent classes, you are eligible to audition for our fall production. See audition info below. If you are enrolled in a private lesson with any of our instructors, students pay their teachers directly. Terms of payment vary from instructor to instructor, so please be sure to obtain in writing your teacher’s terms of payment. Students enrolled exclusively in private instruction are not eligible to audition for mainstage musicals.
Art Students If you are enrolled in an art class, most supplies will be provided for your class time. Some exceptions will be noted after the first class but will be minor additional costs ($10-$15). Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting paint, makeup, or inks on. Students enrolled exclusively in art classes are not eligible to audition for our main stage musicals.
Audition Information For our theatre, choral and dance students, we offer the opportunity to audition for our main stage musicals. A 16 bar audition song is required for any singing or lead part. If you are using accompaniment tracks this equates to 30 seconds of singing time of your music. An accompanist will also be available for your audition. So please bring a copy of your music. We do not recommend singing a capella. We highly recommend the Hal Leonard collection of song books with piano accompaniment CD’s. Students can correctly read the music and all of the accompaniment is provided by piano. This most closely simulates professional auditions. For students interested in stage fighting parts, we require that you have had Trilogy classes in stunts & combat, or are presently enrolled in stunts class. • Students interested in an acting role may perform a one minute monologue in place of a song. • Students’ accounts must be in good standing to audition and perform in our musicals. • Audition form must be filled out completely and 5 copies made for all directors. • Students are encouraged to bring their 8x10 headshot and resume, if they are seeking a lead role along with their 5 copies of the audition form. Trilogy is a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt organization, our productions are our semi–annual fund-raisers for our school, and therefore, each cast member is committed to sell 20 tickets to support Trilogy and the excellence we bring to our performances. Program ads for the production are an option to diminish the ticket requirement. The dollar value of the ad is taken off of the sale of the show tickets.
