The services are provided to mothers and fathers, pregnant or has a child 0-24 months. Services are free and confidential, such as Free Pregnancy Test, Prenatal Childbirth and Parenting Classes, Ultrasound-(by Appointment Only), Peer Counseling, Adoption Information, and Material Assistance with Baby Items, Educational Resources and Services, Social Services Resources, Legal Referrals, Breastfeeding and Childbirth Education, Grief Counseling for miscarriage and Abstinence Education. Peer counseling services are available to help with life changes and choices. One-on-one sessions are more personal and help to dig deeper into issues, feelings, and experiences. How Can Our Church and Preschool Families Help the Sealy Pregnancy Center

(“Changing lives in a Life-Changing Way!”)

Sealy Pregnancy Center Resource Center does not offer nor do they refer for abortion services!

Facing an unplanned pregnancy is a difficult thing, and everyone around you

has an opinion about what you should or shouldn't do. The Pregnancy Center,

located here in Sealy, helps provide practical and compassionate support to

women and men in unplanned pregnancy situations. Their goal is to create a welcoming and safe place free from judgement and ridicule. The Pregnancy

Center provide information and resources that help them to make the best

informed decision in their lives.

The services are provided to mothers and fathers, pregnant or has a child 0-24

months. Services are free and confidential, such as Free Pregnancy Test,

Prenatal Childbirth and Parenting Classes, Ultrasound-(by Appointment Only),

Peer Counseling, Adoption Information, and Material Assistance with Baby

Items, Educational Resources and Services, Social Services Resources, Legal

Referrals, Breastfeeding and Childbirth Education, Grief Counseling for

miscarriage and Abstinence Education.

Peer counseling services are available to help with life changes and choices.

One-on-one sessions are more personal and help to dig deeper into issues,

feelings, and experiences. Referrals to Professional Counselors are available

upon request.

Education classes focus on educational and personal development topics such

as parenting, prenatal, life skills, relationships, interview techniques and more.

Social Agency referrals are provided in the community that can help with a

variety of needs.

Spiritual services are provided as Bible studies, and referrals to local churches

and pastors are provided as requested. Clients may request to be placed on

the Sealy PRC Prayer Groups prayer list. Only generic, non-identifiable

information is provided to the prayer group.

Materials are provided by local community organizations to provide assistance

based on individual needs, such as food, baby items, shelter, etc.

Sealy Pregnancy Clinic provides a safe environment by screening all volunteers

and staff who interact with clients. Volunteers and staff interacting with clients

registration will begin Friday, March 1st and end

on Friday, March 29th for the families that are

enrolled in the program now! This is giving you

first chance to enroll your child for the 2019-

2020 school year. Registration packets will be

ready for you to pick up on Friday, March 1st in

the preschool office.

After Friday, March 29th, the enrollment

is open to the waiting list and the public. If you

are planning to have your child attend Trinity,

please come by the office and pick up a packet

and return it with the registration fee.

Non-refundable registration fee for the

2019-2020 school year is $80.00. For early

registration in the month of March and for the

ones in the program now will be $65.00 until

March 29th. Beginning April 1st the registration

will be $80.00.

Along with registration fee, I must have

all enrollment forms completed and turned into

the office. Registration will be on first come

basis.

Spring Pictures! Kay Krampitz will come to

the preschool to take spring pictures of the

children. Please dress your child in spring

attire.

Kay will be here on Wednesday, March

20th beginning at 8:00 am. Please be sure to fill

out your order form and return it to the office

with your money by Thursday, March 7th. No

pictures will be taken without the required form

and money.

Wear ORANGE Day! On Friday, March 22nd

the children can wear the color ORANGE to

school to reinforce the color for the month.

Family of the Week! Family of the

week is a program we have that helps children

share their family with everyone at preschool

and church. Each week a family will be chosen to

be Family of the Week.

ten pictures of their family to be placed on the

preschool bulletin board in the gym. Always

check your calendar of events to see if it is your

Themes! The themes for the month

of March are: Spring, Garden and

Growing. Children will enjoy this month having

fun planting something special in the

classroom. They will water, nurture and watch

the plant grow and realize that God creates

everything for us to enjoy.

Children will have a special project of

planting seeds. They will take their little

starter garden home and both child and parents

can care and transplant their little garden and

watch it grow.

The Man at the Pool

The Children will continue to learn the

letters for the month B, V, W, E and K. The

shape and color for the month is CRESENT and

ORANGE.

The Bible verse for the month is: “I will

be with you always”. (Matthew 28:20). The

children will learn The Ninth Commandment: You

shall not covet your neighbor’s house. What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that

we do not scheme to get our neighbor’s

inheritance or house, or get it in a way which

only appears right, but help and be of service to

him in keeping it.

The children will learn The Tenth

Commandment: You shall not covet your

neighbor’s wife, worker or animals. What does

this mean? We should fear and love God so that

we do not entice or force away our neighbor’s

wife, workers, or animals, or turn them against

him, but urge them to stay and do their duty.

Spring Break! Preschool will not be

in session the week of March 11th – March 15th

due to Spring Break. Preschool is closed Friday,

March 8th which is before spring break and

Monday, March 18th after spring break.

I would like to say a special thank you to the

preschool parents participating to let their

child/children sing and joining us for the

luncheon. Thank you to Pastor Ken Bersche for

all the kind words expressed and how important

it is to teach our children about Jesus here at

Trinity. Thank you to the congregational

members who support the preschool program

during the year and have this program here at

Trinity. Thank you to my special preschool staff

who are the ones that work side by side with

these children teaching the love of Jesus.

Thank you to Trinity Lutheran Church

Fellowship Committee for sponsoring and

preparing the meal for this event. All praise and

glory goes to our Lord and Savior giving the

blessings to all who are involved to make this

preschool what it is. May God continue to bless.

Ladies Aid met on 2/7/19 with 11 members attending.

Vivian Kveton stepped down as Treasurer and Ruth Szymanski will become Treasurer.

A donation for the quarter was made by our group to Texas Children's Hospital.

Ladies Aid would like to thank the Ethel Donnelly family for their generous donation. It is greatly appreciated.

Ladies Aid is open to all ladies in the Church. We would welcome anyone interested in becoming a member.

MINUTES OF TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH COUNCIL

MEETING February 11, 2019

The Trinity Lutheran Church Council meeting was called to order by President George Wied. George Wied presented the Devotion “New Year, New Priorities” based on Ecclesiastes 9: 4-12. The Devotion was followed with prayer. Council members present: • George Wied - President • Linda Blume – Treasurer • Ruth Szymanski - Secretary • Jerry Leiber – Stewardship Chairman • Barry Wolf – Elder Chairman • Ron Hartmann – Vice President • Pastor Bersche • Patricia Rother – Education Chairman

• Dorothy Coody – Fellowship Chairman • Bill Blume – Trustee Chairman • Johanna Buechmann – Usher Chairman Absent: • Susie Hartmann – Evangelism Chairman • Maggie Kent - Preschool • Katy Grigar – Youth Chairman The Minutes from the meeting held on January 14, 2019 were presented for review and approval. Bill Blume made the motion to accept the minutes. Barry Wolf seconded the motion. All Council members approved and the motion passed. Unfinished/Old Business: • The ballots for nominations for the LCMS President, Vice President and area Vice President were completed. In a meeting held on Sunday, February 10, the congregation voted to nominate Matthew Harrison for the office of President, Jon Braunersreuther for the office of Vice President, and Scott Murray for the office of Vice President of the West-Southwest Region. • After more discussion about covering the handicapped parking spaces in the back of the church, it was decided to discontinue this project at this time. There are many factors to consider that make this project non-beneficial for Trinity. Bill Blume made the motion to discontinue this project and Patricia Rother seconded it. All Council members approved and the motion passed. Chairmen Reports: Linda Blume – Treasurer • The Treasurer’s Report for January 31, 2019 was presented. The cash balance in the General Fund is $142,461.51. The Building Fund balance is $55,389.35 and the Designated Funds balance is $89,904.55. The Total of All Funds is $287,755.41. January contributions were $20,651.75 while January expenses were $18,929.82. • The offerings from Advent, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day have been transferred from the Designated Funds to the General Fund. Jerry Leiber – Stewardship Chairman • Nothing to report Barry Wolf – Elder Chairman • Nothing to report – The Elders meeting for February will take place on the next Sunday. Ron Hartmann – Vice President • Nothing to report Pastor Bersche • Pastor reported the following Official Acts for January 2019:

Ella Niemann transferred in to Trinity from Epiphany, Pearland, on January 10.

Richard and Valerie Engelbrecht transferred out to Grace, Brenham, on January 25.

Estelle Jeanette Abel Remmert passed away January 4. • The Sunday Morning Bible Class continues to study Jesus’ Parables. • The Wednesday Morning Bible Class is currently studying the sixth chapter of John. • The Confirmation Class will conclude the study of the Lord’s Prayer next Sunday, and will begin the study of the Lord’s Supper next. • Confirmation Examination is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. • Confirmation Sunday is set for the Sunday after Easter, April 28. • Current Shut-ins the Pastor visits are:

Joyce Meyer and Ruby Emshoff in Colonial Belle.

Dorothy Hein and Lillie Foehner in Veranda House.

Fred and Ruth Paben in Orchard Park, Pearland. Ruth is currently hospitalized.

Pat Schmidt at her home. • Pastor is slowly starting his “Pickle-Jar Visits” again. • Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on March 6. The theme for this year’s Lenten services will be “A Lent to Remember.” • Maundy Thursday we will possibly be having a Seder Meal as our setting for worship. • Good Friday will be a Tenebrae Service. • Easter Sunday will feature a Sunrise Worship at 7:00 a.m., with breakfast at 8:00. This will be followed by Bible Class with a Bible game at 9:00 and Easter Worship at 10:00 a.m. Patricia Rother – Education Chairman • The Board of Education is working on the Easter Egg Hunt and Vacation Bible School. Patricia Rother – (for Katy Grigar – Youth Chairman) • The tickets have been purchased for the Youth trip this summer. There is a total of 17 attending. • The “Over 60’s Lunch” was attended by 55 people, as well as 21 youth and other helpers that made this successful. • The Youth will be having a Garage Sale on April 6. Ron Hartmann – (for Susie Hartmann – Evangelism Chairman) • The Evangelism Committee will be hosting a “New Member” Luncheon in the near future. Dorothy Coody – Fellowship Chairman • Fellowship will host a Lunch on February 24, 2019, for the Church and Preschool families. The Preschool will be singing in the Worship Service on that day.

Bill Blume – Trustee Chairman • The Theater Arts Department at Sealy ISD will move the risers out of the Church’s storage building in the near future. Johanna Buechmann – Usher Chairman • Nothing to report Pastor Bersche – (for Maggie Kent – Preschool) • The Fellowship Committee, along with the Evangelism Committee, will be preparing a lunch for Sunday, February 24, following Worship Service. The Preschool will be singing for the Congregation on that day. All Congregation members are encourage to attend to show support for the Preschool. • Preschool will have Kay Krampitz, from Treasured Portraits, to take Spring pictures on March 20. • Preschool will be hosting the soup supper on Wednesday, March 20 at 6:00 p.m. • Beth Franke will come in, as she does every year, to read some books written by Dr. Seuss. This is in recognition of Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 1. • On Wednesday, April 24 at 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. the Preschool will be having a fund raiser. This will be a barbecue chicken and sausage meal prepared by Ben’s Chuck Wagon. Tickets will be $12.00 each. • The Blood Drive schedule for 2019 is as follows:

Sunday, March 10, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. This drive will be giving free T shirts.

Sunday, July 14, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, December 1, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Ron Hartmann made a motion to accept the Reports. Bill Blume seconded the motion. All Council members approved the Reports and the motion passed. New Business • There will be a Hymn and Beer Fest at Huff Brewing Company, in Bellville, on February 24 to benefit Casa for Kids. Council gave approval for Janice Wied to purchase an item to be donated for the Silent Auction. There being no further business, Ron Hartmann made a motion to adjourn. Barry Wolf seconded the motion. All Council members approved and the meeting adjourned. Bill Blume will have the devotion for next month’s meeting. The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer. George Wied - President
