WHAT WE BELIEVE

HEARING IMPAIRED

Pocket-sized receivers with ear buds are available to be checked out

during the Worship Service from the sound booth at the rear of the

sanctuary.

ELDER INVITATION

Following morning worship, the elders will be available to members

and guests for prayer and ministry. Simply come to the front of the

sanctuary where we will be glad to: pray for your personal needs, lead

you in receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior, discuss church

membership.

April 19, 2015

ESPECIALLY FOR OUR GUESTS

We are glad to have you worship with us today. You

are worshiping with people who experience the

same difficulties of life as you. We have nothing to

boast about except the God we worship. Please relax

and focus upon the Lord Jesus who loves you and

desires for you to follow Him. While God has surely

led you here, you likely still have a number of im-

portant questions about us; how to get more involved and connected in

meaningful relationships or about your own personal or spiritual needs.

If so, please allow us to help you by completing the guest registration

inside the back cover or by coming forward during the invitation time.

—Ronnie W. Rogers

Book Recommendation for April Why Trust Jesus by Dave Sterrett

The last decade has shaken our trust in personal safety through terrorist at-

tacks, school shootings, economic turmoil, and war. We have seen hypocrisy

in government leaders as well as in the church. We look for relationships that

are authentic, but we have many questions in regard to faith, reason, suffering,

and the person of Jesus himself. Dave Sterrett helps us answer these and other

questions. Many people, both Christians and non-Christians, have questions

about why and how to trust Jesus. But there is hope! He is worthy of our trust.

MISSIONS MINISTRY UPDATES

PRAYERS FOR PERSECUTED BELIEVERS

AND THEIR PERSECUTORS 1. Pray for overwhelming grace and God’s manifest presence to sur-

round the persecuted believers of Egypt and similar nations. Pray for

special grace and protection for the children and their parents (Psalm 91; 2

Cor. 12:9).

2. Pray that believers are delivered from the evil one. Pray that they be

guarded and protected from the world and darkness (Matt. 6:13; John 17:12

-15).

3. Pray that their faith would not fail and their gospel witness shines

bright. Pray that they come through the tr ials as shining gold and that

their eternal reward would be great (Job 23:10; Matt. 5:16; Luke 22:32).

4. Pray that they love their enemies and not succumb to hate and venge-

ance. Pray that our own hear ts would not yield to anger and rage at

those who attack and mock Christian beliefs (Matt. 5:43-48; Rom. 12:17-

19; 1 Pet. 3:9).

5. Pray for God’s wisdom and direction in the actions of missionaries and

persecuted saints (Psalm 23; Psalm 32:8; James 1:5)

6. Pray for supernatural provision for believers’ emotional, spiritual and

physical needs. Pray especially for the children (Phil. 4:19).

7. Pray for millions of eyes to be opened, for Christ’s Gospel to shine

bright and run swiftly through the lands of persecution. Pray that

millions will be drawn to Christ (John 6:44; 2 Cor. 10:4-5; 2 Thess. 3:1-2).

8. Pray for God’s mercy on the persecutors and that their eyes be opened

to Christ (Luke 23:24; Acts 7:58-60).

9. Pray for great strength and wisdom for authorities in Egypt who stand

for fairness and order. Pray that reasonable people would resolve to

protect the oppressed and bring peace (Prov. 16:7; 1 Tim. 2:2)

10. Pray for American believers to fast and intercede for persecuted be-

lievers and missionaries worldwide. Pray that we will suppor t our

brethren and the spread of Christ’s Gospel with our very lives and re-

sources. May God grant us the same resolve to stand boldly for Christ in

our own land of growing darkness. Pray that we will be bold in our faith,

strong in joy, fervent in mission and yearning for Christ’s coming! (2 Cor.

8:1-8; Matt. 5:11-12; Acts 1:8; Rev. 22:20-21)
