VOLUNTEER TRAVEL
Volunteering abroad is expensive as it is a closed market controlled by placement agencies who charge thousands of dollars. We have successfully
commoditized volunteer-abroad-experiences by creating an open platform, or market exchange, for nonprofits to offer their experiences directly to travelers
Trip180 is an open platform for nonprofit organizations to post their volunteer opportunities around the world
Javier Barrera is an entrepreneur, engineer, and financier, founder of four companies with professional experience in engineering and financial analysis.
Mr. Barrera worked in New York investing in alternative asset classes for a private fund. Before working in finance, he worked in IT as a server specialist and engineer in both Canada and Mexico.
His tenure as an investment manager reawakened his passion for entrepreneurship; this, combined with his desire for travel and previous volunteer experiences triggered his wish to make Trip180 a reality.
Previous Work: Abacus & Associates, Inc. (New York), Promontory Financial Group (Toronto), Ingram Micro (Toronto).
Blas Flores is a visual arts producer, entrepreneur and digital strategist working with brand identity and awareness on and offline.
Mr. Flores has worked with a plethora of for profit and nonprofit organizations to create brand awareness and identity. Prior to this, he worked as a visual arts producer collaborating with well-known brands and artists in photography, and documentaries.
Blas has developed a passion for travel, cultural awareness, and languages. This innate social drive was crucial for the conception of Trip180.
Previous Work: Social Media Squad (Los Angeles), Cherry On Top (Los Angeles), Las Flores Production.

BROKEN MODEL
Nonprofits rely on placement agencies to receive volunteers. Sadly, due to the closed nature of the market, these agencies charge thousands of dollars to
travelers, and only relay a fraction of that money to the organizations
Travelers are discouraged due to the inflated prices, stripping the nonprofits of needed funding and hurting the movement as a whole

OUR SOLUTION
Trip180 simplifies the process by holding an inventory of accommodation spots attached to a cause. In our platform travelers can apply, communicate,
and pay the nonprofit of their choice for their experience
