Trojan War So the great fleet made ready. They met at Aulis, a place of strong winds and dangerous tide. Calchas declared that gods spoken to him. Artemis was angry because one of her
beloved wild creatures, a hare, had been slain by the Greeks. Iphigenia, eldest daughter of Agamemnon was sacrifice to appease Artemise.
The Greeks touched down on Troy with a very large naval fleet.
The war begins. But a prophecy foretold that the first Greek to touch Trojan soil would die first.
Achilles threw his shield on the ground and jumped on it. Protesilaus soon jumped after
being the first to die in battle.

The First Nine Years of War
• The first nine years of the war consisted of both war in Troy and war against the neighboring regions.
• The Greeks realized that Troy was being supplied by its neighboring kingdoms.
• As well as destroying Trojan economy, these battles let the Greeks gather a large amount of resources and other spoils of war, including women.

Zeus made a simple plan. He sent a lying dream
to Agamemnon promising him victory if he will attacked. “Men must fight for such as she” Paris and Menelaus faced each other. Menelaus was the victor. Hera was determined
that the war should not end until troy was destroyed.
Ajax and Diomedes Prince Aeneas came near to death Aphrodite save him Apollo help Aeneas and Artemis held him. Diomedes was dismay seeing Ares fighting for Hector. Hera was angry. Athena entered Ares body.
Once again the battlefield was eager to fight. Zeus came
down and help the Trojan. Hector seems errisistable. Agamemnon was giving up. Agamemnon make an
appease with Achilles. Hera once again help the
Greeks. Zeus forgot his promise to
Thetis. Hector was wounded Apollo revived the fainting

Patroclus Died• Achilles’s cousin and friend.• He borrowed hectors armor and wore
it in battle where he fell to the mighty Hector.
• Achilles swore vengeance and re-entered the war.
• His mother, Thetis, presented him with new armor, crafted by Hephaestus.
Hector DiedAchilles tied Hector’s body to the back of his chariot and then drove in glorious triumph around the walls of Troy. After much beseeching by King Priam, Achilles eventually agreed to return Hector’s body to the Trojans.
