Walther Trowal started building surface finishing machinery as early as
1931. Since then the company has become the technological market lea-
der in the surface finishing industry by building a reputation of producing
first class finishing equipment featuring state of the art engineering and
sturdy design.
The term “Trowalizing” has even become part of the English language
and stands for innovative surface finishing processes. While the company’s
main focus is on surface finishing technologies, Trowal also furnishes so-
lutions for treating the waste water from mass finishing applications and
offers a line of coating equipment for the decorative or protective coating
of small, mass-produced parts.
With the knowhow accumulated for over 8 decades, we provide spe-
cial surface finishing solutions that are custom engineered to match our
customer’s technological requirements. And in our test labs in Germany,
USA and Asia we develop the optimum finishing processes for your com-
ponents.
Our technical concepts range from stand-alone systems all the way up to
fully automated finishing lines consisting of multiple machines which are
integrated into your overall manufacturing process.

well as our processes have been tested and are approved for use in the

EnGinE PaRtS
Turbine components like fan blades, compressor blades, blisks, turbine
disks, engine casings, etc., require a perfect surface finish with low Ra rea-
dings. These are achieved by processing the parts in top of the line rotary
vibrators equipped with the “gate clearing” feature for gentle and 100%
unloading of the parts from the finishing machine. For somewhat more
intensive finishing processes high performance Turbotron centrifugal disk
finishing machines are utilized. And, the eco- friendly Trowapast finishing
process produces surface finishes with Ra readings of <= 0.2µm.
StRUCtURaL CoMPonEntS
Trowal tub vibrators allow the efficient, cost effective finishing of the sur-
face of large structural components used in wings, fuselages and landing
gears with lengths of up to 6,000 mm (20 ft) and a maximum width of
1,300 mm (4.3 ft). The proven “multi vib” vibratory drive system guaran-
tees an even, intensive movement of the media mass over the complete
length of the vibratory tub producing an absolutely homogeneous finish
on the parts surface.
otHER CoMPonEntS
Our latest technical development, the Multi Vibrator MV, allows the inten-
sive finishing of the inner and outer surface of hydraulic housings.
This versatile vibratory system is also ideally suited for processing delicate
components which must not touch each other during the vibratory fi-
nishing process.
Of course, Trowal also offers economic solutions for deburring mass pro-
duced bulk parts like screws, rivets, etc.
And, of course, such bulk parts can be efficiently coated in our “Rotamat”
coating systems for corrosion protection, visual differentiation and the dis-
sipation of static electricity.
