Forward FoOd - what is it? We are pleased to announcethat we have developed a ‘suspended meals’ service. Anyone can donate to the Forward Food initiative, either change from a meal or drink in the café, or a direct donation at any time, even when not visiting the cafe. The monies collected will then be converted into tokens or vouchers which will be available on a board for use. These hot meals can then be given by use of the voucher for people, whom due to circumstance wish to have a hot meal, perhaps fi nancially pressed, not working, or just in diffi cult times. The system works well in Penrith as the suspended meals service, and we are replicating it here in the Centre and have called it Forward Food. Please donate, you may never know when you need a hot meal.

The new Computer Community Kiosk is now fully installed in the Centre reception and you can access information locally from Carlisle City Council and other support services, it’s free easy to use, by touching the screen and is available during all Centre opening hours.

Watch out for the fi nal of the Local Music Competition ran by the Stepping Stones Festival to promote local bands and groups from any genre. 10 fi nalists will play at the Centre with a slot at the Stepping Stones later this year in the Summer. Who will be Cumbria’s next talent?
