In par-ticular, it looks at the phenomenon of Peak Oil, i.e. thatoil supplies are finite. Once these supplies peak, theydiminish, and it is argued that the whole structure of ourmodern civilization, including the world economy, will be under directthreat of collapse. Even if steps are taken to adapt to a society less de-pendent on fossil fuels our civilization and way of living will have to al-ter dramatically.
