Riding Safe Technologies

hardshell wiTh flexTeChOur Hardshell construction with FlexTech is the

next evolution in helmet designs as it comes with

superior energy distribution properties and incorporates

an automatically size and head shape adjustment mecha-

nism. The helmet’s interior foam is divided into pieces just

like a cake, with eight separate parts wrapping the head

and offering enough space for the entire helmet to adapt to

the individual head shape of its wearer – because a 54 cm

head size does not tell if the head is rather round or oval.

These parts are connected with an injected strap providing

great flexibility. The major benefit of this construction is its

wearing comfort. The flexible interior is elastic enough to make

as much space for the individual curves of the head shape as

needed. This avoids too much pressure on the head in case

the helmet touches certain regions too closely. Additionally

the flexibility of the inside foam helps distributing the impact

energy much better than a conventional helmet. Add an extra

amount of protection with MIPS. See Kraken+ on page 20.

hardshellHardshell helmets have a durable ABS or PC hard

shell and a liner of softer expanded polystyrene

(EPS), which has very good penetration resistance and

energy distribution properties. Hardshell helmets are very

strong and quite forgiving in handling as the outer shell

isn’t delicate to minor knocks.

in-mold In-Mold construction fuses a very thin but tough

polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet’s im-

pact-absorbing foam liner, resulting in an incomparable

weight reduction caused by a much thinner shell. In-Mold

construction allows us to build classical half-shell helmets

as light weighted as road cycling helmets. The fusing pro-

cess and the thinner outer shell result in slim helmet designs.

it covers without blocking vision and action the better is

the protection. Our Low Fit design sits as low as possible

for superior front, back and side head protection but is

anatomically designed that it doesn’t restrict your action.

TSG helmets with Low Fit safely cover the delicate area

around your temples and most important the atlas, the

highest point of your spinal column.

snuG fiTTSG Snug Fit turns our helmets into the most

comfortable and best fitting half-shelf helmets on the mar-

ket. This has to do with our custom helmet form that is not

just one of those regular bulky molds but is anatomically

designed all-around your head. Most helmets come with

side parts that run down straight from a bulky top, igno-

ring your head’s curved anatomy. The sides of our Snug Fit

helmets curve around the temples a little more than usual,

respecting your head shape, to optimize fit, protection and

aesthetic. Additionally it shows great effects on the sha-

pe, as the helmet is less voluminous as common half-shell

helmets.

eps impaCT foamEPS features the constitutional properties of a

cell. This lightweight impact foam combines high stability

with great flexibility and thus offers good penetration resis-

tance and energy distribution properties.

mipsMIPS sets a new standard in helmet safety. De-

veloped by brain surgeons and scientists to reduce inju-

ries due to oblique impacts to the head. Read more about

MIPS technology on page 18.

Tuned fiT sysTemOur Tuned Fit System allows you to dial in your fit

using different thickness comfort pads on the interior of

the helmet. Your helmet comes with two sizes of comfort

pads. Just pull the hook and loop-backed pads out and

swap them for the thickness you need.

heaT-sealed padsOur high quality pre-molded and heat-sealed interior

fit pads are non-wrinkling and can be washed.

Stay Strong started as a simple

tee shirt worn by Pro BMX riders on the Dew Tour showing

support for Stephen Murray who was paralyzed on 22nd

June 2007 in the dirt finals in Baltimore Maryland.

For Stephen a multiple X Games and Gravity games

gold medalist a double backflip attempt went horribly

wrong when his foot slipped off the pedal mid rotati-

on causing a tragic crash that resulted in 4 shattered

vertebrae in his neck. His helmet saved his life... now

the young father of two faces his biggest challenges yet.

Paralyzed from the shoulders down, Stephen has

become an inspiration to many people across the world. His

sheer strength, courage and positivity have helped unite the

internally displaced youth through skateboarding,

Charity / Skate-Aid

Skate-aid supports humanitarian aid pro-

jects for children worldwide. These

projects aim to promote a sense of identity and pur-

pose for the young, upcoming generation. Skate-aid

cooperates with experienced local partner projects

in Afghanistan, South Africa, Kenia, Tanzania

and Germany. In November 2010 skate-aid was

awarded with the „Laureus Media Prize”. Together

with „Gruenhelme e.V.“ they built the first concrete

skate-park in Karokh, Afghanistan. In a surround-

ing that is marked by war and destruction, skate-aid

brings hope on four wheels to the kids.
