Do you REALLY know me and my preferences:
• Who am I linked to?
• What organizations am I a part of?
• What are my unique preferences?
• What influences my engagement and giving behavior?
• What do I expect to gain from this relationship?
• What do I want to give (financial, non-financial)?
How should we engage a friend, alumni, donor, corporation, organization based on our relationship and where they are in their lifecycle?

Advancement strategy and processes are rarely coordinated across different units of the institution…leading to inefficiencies and overlaps/conflicts
Valuable data not easily available to the people involved in advancement functions; not always current, consistent and accurate
Coordination of activities thwarted by multiple data sources and poor awareness of other departmental initiatives
The “constituent’s” needs on how the institution interacts with him/her are not always understood nor easy to satisfy…e.g. personalization of contact, relationships between constituents
Centralized data privacy and security policies often not implemented in favor of “data hoarding”
