Activities

• Rediscover nature in your community. Go for a hike in the woods and let time slow down for you too!

• Jesse had a goal to see every speck that exists on the earth. He had quite a long time to accomplish this task. What are your life goals? Make a list of places you want to go and things you want to do (Visit New Zealand, Bungee Jump, write a play). Make sure to hold on to this list with the rest of your keepsakes and check in with it every once in awhile to see how you’re doing.

• Take a day off! The Tucks lived life slowly, discovering things around them every day. Take a whole day off from any plans. Turn off your TV, go outside and smell the roses.

• Read the book Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. How do you think the book and movie compare?

Get Involved

• One of the biggest concerns of the Tuck family was the destruction of the forest because it was their home. Huge amounts of trees that stood in this country no longer do. Plant a tree in your own backyard. Make sure to research what trees work best in your climate and area.

• Support a conservation group either nationally or locally. These groups work to conserve many different ecological regions including wetlands, forests, and other environmentally sensitive areas.
