Winning HouseTerm 2 Kauri was our winning house for Term 2. They can cer- tainly feel proud for displaying our values throughout the term. By doing this they earned the winning amount of to- kens. Congratulations Kauri a well deserved lunch with Mrs Blair. Emma, Aramaia, Finn, Danielle, Tom, Keygan, Maddison and AmeliaWell Done! Term 3 Mufti Day The children raised $36 on the last day of term. They chose to donate their efforts to Canterbury SPCA. The SPCA have since received the donation and wrote a lovely letter of thanks. Interim Report Survey Results Thank you to the parents who provided feedback on this. From the responses received: 100% said that there was enough information about achievement, next learning steps and suggestions for helping at home. All said that the reports were easy to un- derstand. Comments suggested that the teachers know the children well, were useful, clear and easy to understand. There was a query about how we assess the values. These are teacher judgements within the school context, usually made through observations. If you have any con- cerns arising from the reports please discuss this with your classroom teacher at parent interviews. Parent Interviews See attached form Please find an attached form for parent interviews. This time we are trialling a different approach so that teachers can make use of earlier times. Kea interviews will be held on Tuesday 31st July and Weka interviews on Tuesday 7th August both starting at 1:45. Lions Speech Competition The Kea children will be starting the term with writing speeches. The Year 7/8 children are invited to enter the Lions’ Speech Competition to be held on Tuesday 7th Au- gust at the Hawarden Hall 3:30 pm. The topic for the competition is “What would you like to see printed on a new banknote?” i.e person, animal etc and why. I am really hoping that the Year 7/8’s rise to the challenge so parents please encourage them to enter. ARA Visit

Last term our Year 7 & 8 chil-

dren went to ARA

visited the Arts & Design

an idea of the many different

types of employment options

that are available.
