    THE BOOK

    TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE

Is an incredible treasure which focuses on the beautiful

relationship that Morrie and Mitch shared.

The last class which happened once a week on

Tuesdays wherein the subject was the meaning of life

    which was taught from experience.

No grades were given, no books were

    required, yet many topics were

    covered. No institutions were

    involved or academic credits granted.

    10/26

    The first Tuesday

    We talked about the world

The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love

and to let It come in.

  • 8/2/2019 Tuesdays With Morrie (2)

    11/26

    The second Tuesday

We talked about Feeling sorry for yourself

Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what

    you feel.

And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel

that you can trust them too - even when you are in dark, even when youare falling.

  • 8/2/2019 Tuesdays With Morrie (2)

    12/26

    The third Tuesday

    We talked about regrets

The culture doesnt encourage you to talk about regrets because we are

involved in trillions of little acts just to keep going.

  • 8/2/2019 Tuesdays With Morrie (2)

    13/26

    The fourth Tuesday

    We talked about Death

Everybody knows they are going to die but nobody believes it, if we did, we

    would do things differently.

Learn to die and you will learn how to love.

If you except that you can die at anytime then you might not be as ambitious as

    you are.

  • 8/2/2019 Tuesdays With Morrie (2)

    14/26

    The fifth Tuesday

    We talked about Family

If you dont have the support, love, caring and concern that you get from a family you

    dont have much at all.

    Love each other or Perish.

Without love, we are birds with broken wings.

    15/26

    Parenting, having children

There is no experience like having children, there is no substitute

    for this.

If you want to experience complete responsibility for another

human being and to learn how to love and born in the deepest way

    then you should have children.

    16/26

    The sixth Tuesday

    We talked about Emotions

Dont cling to things because everything is impermanent.

Detaching oneself from experience by letting the experience penetrate you fully, to

be able for you to leave it.

  • 8/2/2019 Tuesdays With Morrie (2)

    17/26

    The seventh Tuesday

We talked about Fear of Aging

Forget what the culture says, I have ignored the culture, I am not ashamed.

Aging is not Decay, its Growth. Its more than negative that you are going to die,

its also positive that you understand that you are going to die and you live a

    better life because of it.

If you found meaning in life, you dont want to go back.

  • 8/2/2019 Tuesdays With Morrie (2)

    18/26

    The eight Tuesday

    We talked about Money

Money is no substitute for love or for gentleness or for tenderness or for

    a sense of comradeship.

Theres a lot of confusion over what you want versus what you need.

  • 8/2/2019 Tuesdays With Morrie (2)

    The ninth Tuesday

We talked about how love goes on

Love is how you stay alive even after youre gone.

    The tenth Tuesday

    We talked about Marriage

It is so important to find a loving relationship specially at a time when you are not

doing so well, this is important in everything in life.

If youre missing marriage, youre missing a Hell lot.

We talked about The Perfect day

The most incredible feeling is the sensation of accepting what is happening and

    CONCLUSION

Have you ever really had a teacher? One who saw you as a raw but precious

thing, a jewel that, with wisdom, could be polished to a proud shine?

If youre lucky enough to find your way to such teachers, youll always find

youre way back. Sometimes it is only in your head. Sometimes it is right

    alongside their beds.

The last class of my old professors life took place once a week, in his home, by

a window in his study where he could watch a small hibiscus plant shed its pink

flowers. The class met on Tuesdays. No books were required. The subject was

the meaning of life. It was taught from experience.

    The teaching goes on..
