Wow - what a scorcher July turned out to

be...now the question is will it hold out for the

Summer Holidays? Wouldn’t it be great to have a

Summer holiday in England this year, and know

that you only need to pack Summer clothes!!!

Are you off on your holidays this month?..If so

perhaps you would like a bit of pampering before

hand. Well, we have a couple of local beauti-

cians advertising with us this month, both whom

can come out to visit you in the comfort of your

own home. Beauty by Emma, and Fantastic Tan,

both on page 12 and both can get you in tip top

condition for your holidays.

With the recent birth of our future king, Prince

George, it seems everyone is full of baby talk.

Well here in Gloucester it’s no different, our NCT

group are currently on the look out for enthusiastic volunteers to help keep the local

weekly Bumps and Babies Groups going. The weekly meetings are a fantastic way to

meet new and expectant mums and dads, whether it is their first, second or fifth baby but

without helpers they will be unable to continue. The group runs every Tuesday 10:30am

to 12 at the Salvation Army Hall, Gloucester. You can read more details about this group

on page 19.

LOCAL NCT BRANCH NEED BUMPS & BABIES HELPERS

The NCT Gloucester Branch run a weekly Bumps & Babies group and we are in desperate

need of enthusiastic volunteers to help keep these going.

The weekly meetings are a fantastic way to meet new and expectant mums and dads, whether

it is their first, second or fifth baby but without helpers they will be unable to continue. The

group runs every Tuesday 10:30am to 12 at the Salvation Army Hall, Gloucester.

Set up by parent charity NCT, Bumps and Babies groups provide relaxed and informal get-

togethers, in community venues with enough room for buggies, babies and a close circle of

parents. It is a great place for parents and parents-to-be to make new friends, share tips and

chat with those going through the same things.

There are other ways to get involved with your local Gloucester branch as well and team roles

are varied, interesting and fun – you can use different skills and there’s something for every-

one, even if you only have a small amount of time to offer. Support is always given by the

team – you’ll get a sense of pride and achievement for your efforts, make new friends and

have some useful experience to add to your CV too.

Gloucester, NCT Publicity Officer Karen Knowlton said: ”The bumps and babies weekly

meetings are a lovely way of meeting new parents and parents to be at the same stage as you,

they are a great lifeline and provide a valuable network that can be really needed in the early

days of parenthood as a new mum or dad, without volunteers we would lose these meetings

and that would be a real shame”
