Leadership Groups – Site Council TSO, Packbackers, and Content Area Leaders Site Council is a group of teachers, parents, classified employees, and students (at the high school level) that work with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. The Site Council Members are elected by a group of their peers. For example, parents elect the parent representatives and teachers elect teachers. Timberwolf Support Organization (TSO) – TSO is a vital component of our school. They provide funds for a wide variety of programs and activities, parent volunteers and graduation activities. Packbackers are parents dedicated to supporting the sport programs and athletic facilities at TuHS through fund raising projects. They believe that access to a robust sports program and to quality athletic facilities are essential elements of the overall high school experience for all TuHS students. They achieve their goal by being responsible and responsive stewards. Department Chairs are teachers who lead and facilitate the day-to-day business of each department. They call meetings of the department, coordinate the department budget, and recommend changes to curriculum and the Master Schedule. They also review school data and guide their department’s academic goals and School Improvement Plan. Academic Opportunities Dual Credit Offerings Tualatin High School is able to offer dual credit with local colleges in math, science, digital arts, business, computer technology, culinary arts, auto mechanics, and child development. Students will earn college credit as well as high school credit by taking these courses. Career and Technical Education Students have the ability to enroll in multiple CTE classes at Tualatin High School. The culminating class is Advanced Business Procedures where students have the opportunity to run a student store, café, or t-shirt business. Community Experiences for Career Education (CE)2 (CE)2 is an alternative program where students earn high school credit by working at a local business, learning valuable job related skills four days a week, while completing their core academic classes.
