Our product is produced by the extrusion double vertical piece. The cooking process more than 40 hours, gives us great strength and final product quality for any weather

condition, apart from an attractive rustic finish and unique.

The extruded stoneware because of its manufacturing process and high cooking temperatures, may have small changes in tone and size, so you must allocate it with open joints (minimum of about 7 mm), being convenient to mix contents of several boxes to get the desired aesthetic effect. It is also very important to make sure that stretch marks on the back part of the tiles during installation are always in the same direction, in order to minimize the possible failures of size. To get a better result in the execution of the joints, there are different systems, all of them valid when used by expert and skilled hands.

All ceramic floor tiles including the extruded ones (these, much stronger) are always exposed outside to adverse climate that may cause irreparable damages depending on their placement despite the quality of the extruded flooring.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES

Moisture, ice and temperature changes with strong expansion and contraction are damaging.For this reason, for greater durability of stoneware in placements outside, it is essential that the masonry work is done with the appropriate expertise:

The gradient or slope shall be not less than 2% in order to evacuate the water toward drains to avoid any kind of stalemate on the flooring.

As there is no absolutely free moisture pavement (1% -2% Turolgrés models available), it is crucial to isolate, for a perfect ending, the work of masonry under the pavement, in order to prevent, in case of water leakages through the joints, the formation of backwaters under the pavement, that would cause, in case of ice, the rise of the tiles. Prolonged backwaters in contact with mortar and concrete, lead to the formation of complex salts followed by strong volume increases, and the resulting high pressure causes the surface rise due to the capillary action, formation of spots and violent detachment of the seated tiles enamel. It is very important not to use nitrous sands that cause stains and efflorescence.

To avoid most of these problems is necessary to use adhesives for specific external (joints and footprint) and under the pavement.

PLACEMENT TECHNIQUES

Once we have the placing surface perfectly levelled off and with its appropriate slopes, we will prepare the adhesive glue cement for the exterior, C2E type, according to UNE-EN 12004, following the manufacturer’s instructions and we will spread a thin layer with a notched trowel, making preferably double-spread. For the tiles settlement we will beat them with a rubber hammer.

Before starting to grout, it is essential that the grip material has completely set the tiles, and that boards are empty and clean. The product used for grouting these boards should be suitable for exteriors (elastic and waterproof) type CG2 according to the UNE-EN 13888, to avoid cracking with the passage of time and to prolong the maintenance of the joints. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for the placement of adhesive joints.

You must give full consideration to expansion joints and their area should not exceed 25 m2 in exteriors, in order to avoid cracks in the pavement caused as a result of expansions and contractions.

El gres extrusionado, debido a su proceso de fabricación y a las altas temperaturas de cocción, puede presentar pequeños cambios en tonos y calibre, por lo que se debe colocar con junta abierta ( mínimo de unos 7 mm), siendo conveniente mezclar el contenido de varias cajas para así conseguir el efecto estético deseado. También es muy importante fijarnos en que las estrías de la parte trasera de las baldosas durante la colocación estén siempre en el mismo sentido, minimizando de esta forma los posibles fallos de calibre. Para obtener un mejor resultado en la ejecución de las juntas, se pueden adoptar diversos sistemas, todos ellos válidos cuando son empleados por unas manos expertas y hábiles. Todos los pavimentos cerámicos incluidos los extrusionados (éstos, mucho más resistentes) están siempre sometidos en el exterior a climatologías atmosféricas adversas que pueden provocar daños irreparables dependiendo de su colocación y ajenos completamente a la calidad del solado extrusionado.

OBSERVACIONES MUY IMPORTANTES

Son perjudiciales la humedad, el hielo y los cambios de temperatura con fuertes dilataciones y contracciones.Por dicho motivo, para obtener una mayor durabilidad del gres en colocaciones al aire libre, es indispensable que la obra de albañilería se realice con los oportunos conocimientos técnicos:

El desnivel o pendiente será como mínimo del 2%, al objeto de evacuar el agua en dirección a desagües que eviten cualquier tipo de estancamiento sobre el solado.

Al no existir ningún pavimento exento absolutamente de humedad, (Turolgrés 1%-2% consultar modelos), es fundamental aislar, para una terminación perfecta, la obra de mampostería bajo el pavimento, al objeto de evitar, en caso de filtraciones húmedas a través de las juntas, la formación de rebalsas bajo el pavimento que , en caso de hielo, el resultado sería el alzamiento de las baldosas. Rebalsas prolongadas en contacto con morteros y hormigones conducen a la formación de sales complejas seguidas por fuertes aumentos de volumen, la elevada presión resultante provoca la subida en superficie por capilaridad de las sales, formación de manchas, y despegos violentos del esmalte en azulejos sentados. Es muy importante no utilizar arenas salitrosas que son las que provocan manchas y eflorescencias.

Para evitar la gran mayoría de estos inconvenientes es necesario utilizar adhesivos para exteriores específicos tanto para las juntas o huella como bajo el pavimento.

TÉCNICAS DE COLOCACIÓN

Una vez tengamos la superficie de colocación perfectamente nivelada y con sus pendientes apropiadas, prepararemos el cemento cola adhesivo para exterior, tipo C2E, según norma UNE-EN 12004, siguiendo las instrucciones del fabricante y extenderemos una capa fina con una llana dentada, realizando preferentemente doble encolado. El asentamiento de las baldosas, lo realizaremos batiendo las mismas con un martillo de goma.

Antes de empezar a rejuntar, es imprescindible que el material de agarre de las baldosas esté completamente fraguado, y que las juntas estén vacías y limpias. El producto empleado para rejuntar estas juntas deberá ser el apropiado para exteriores ( elástico e impermeable ), tipo CG2 según la norma UNE-EN 13888, para evitar que se cuartee con el paso del tiempo y así prolongar el mantenimiento de las juntas. Seguir las recomendaciones del fabricante para la colocación del adhesivo de juntas.

Se debe prestar la máxima atención a las juntas de dilatación , no debiendo sobrepasar la superficie de las mismas los 25 m2 en exteriores, al objeto de evitar roturas en el pavimento producidas como consecuencia de las dilataciones y contracciones.
