• Baby: The life cycle of a turtle begins when a mother turtle

lays eggs on a nesting beach. After about two months later a

tiny, hatchling turtle makes its way to the water.

• From the time of their first swim, until they return to the

coast as juveniles, may be as long as 10 years, named the

“lost years” as the turtles are very mobile and hard to track.

• Once they reach sexual maturity, they will migrate to nesting areas to breed. Only the females will come ashore to lay eggs, generally in the area where they were born. Most species will nest multiple times during a nesting season, about every 2-4 years over the course of their life. http://www.socwall.com/desktop-
