Turves Green Primary School Newsletter
www.turvesgreen.excelsiormat.org 17th September 2021
Important Notes Dear Everyone,
It has been a terrific second week back at school, with the children continuing to settle well into their new classes and excellent learning taking place across school. It really is so lovely to be back at Turves Green after being on secondment for Spring and Summer term.
The first of the afterschool sports clubs have taken place this week, with lots of children enjoying the extra-curricular activities. Do remember that there will be plenty of opportunities for children to take part in afterschool clubs this year, so keep a look out for what comes on offer!
This week was the launch of ‘Flexi-Friday’, which will take place every two weeks. It has been great to walk around school and see so many of the children engaged and enthused by exciting and creative learning. We have had a day of Roman shield and Bayeux tapestry construction, fire sculpting for the Great Fire of London topic and much more. Do ask your children what amazing things they have been up to!
Please remember to make sure that your children are reading and using Mathletics for at least 10 minutes each day – it really does help their progress.
Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday. Mrs Harker-Daniels Deputy Headteacher

Appointments We do ask that all non urgent medical, dental and opticians

hospital appointments maybe prearranged in school time. In this in-stance, we do ask that you provide the school office with proof of the
appointment at least 24 hours in advance so that this can be authorised. Please note that when a child has been removed from
school due to a family members appointment, or where proof of appointment can not be shown, the absence will

School Council
Well done to all of those successfully
elected to be school councillors
following the ballot this week!
Its great to see everyone looking so smart and wearing school uniform and PE clothing. Just a little reminder that anyone with hair longer than
shoulder length will need to wear their hair up in a plain hair bobble. PE days and times are overleaf. Please check the newsletter or the PE slip sent to all parents at the beginning of the term before calling our
busy school office.
