Raul Touzon is a Cuban-born documentary and underwater photographer who specializes in making images that convey what
he refers to as “The Eternity of a Moment.”RAUL TOUZON is documentary and underwater photographer who specializes in making images that convey what he refers as to “The Eternity of a Moment”. Raul has traveled extensively building a collection of dramatic photographs that have been featured in many publications including: Time Magazine, US News, The New York Times, National Geographic Traveler and the National Geographic Magazine
For over a decade Raul has been a full time educator and instructor producing and teaching his workshops around the
world as well as for National Geographic Expeditions. His images are represented by the National Geographic Creative, Getty Images and Corbis. His list of clients includes the US National Park Service, Apple Computers, and the United Nations for which he documented their operations in Sudan.
Raul has printed two landscape books: Visions of my World (2012) and Journeys (2013). Some of the images in these books have been auctioned by Christies.

To be a great photographer, just be free: Free from preconceptions and influences, find your
own voice and enjoy the creative process.
Never, ever expect to get a great picture out of every situation, just enjoy the moment and
the ride.
It is not the same to know the path as to walk the path and while in it always be true to the three “P’s”: Passion, Patience, and Persever-
ance.
Eventually they will lead you to the fourth one, Perfection. As for me I prefer to stay on
the path rather that achieving perfection.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
The first photography group I ever lead in my career was to Tuscany.
To this day, I remember this trip and some of the amazing places we photographed; the ex-quisite food, the gentle people and especially the fantastic wines of this region.
During that trip we stayed in IL POGGIOLO, an ancient village of Etruscan origin, located in San Quirico d’Orcia. I will never forget the beautiful sunsets over Val D’ Orcia sitting outside sipping a fine Italian red.
Finally after so many years, we are going back to Tuscany and IL POGGIOLO. The best part is that we secured the entire villa for ourselves. Every participant will have his/her apartment with private bathroom.
Everyday both breakfast and a three-course Tuscan dinner with wine are included.
We will travel and photograph not only the beautiful Tuscan landscape, but also the medieval towns of Pieza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Sienna, Monteriggioni, San Gimi-gnano and Florence among others. We also have a day trip to the Chianti region.
A local expert will accompany us all the time.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
The eleven apartments within the structure bear witness to the atmosphere of past times, the old fireplaces have been preserved as have the spacious original kitchens which are decorated with warm, natural colours.
The original furnishings dating from the 19th century help to maintain the authentic but refined flavour of popular Tuscan tradition. On the ground floor there is a large communal area and trough an entrance hall you find the cellar. A large old “cantina” dug out of the tufa is the back drop for your wine-tasting.
Outside there is a swimming-pool surrounded by olive trees, there are stables for horse rid-ing with a guide, biking, and you can easy reach the village on foot.
All around is the Natural and cultural park of the Val d’Orcia (World Heritage List) with its fine landscapes and numerous cultural, musical and eno-gastronomic events.Il Poggiolo will be an excellent base for visiting this delightful area and its people – we look forward to seeing you!
Il Poggiolo sleeps up to 28 people in apartments of various sizes and types which have been carefully restored. They all have cooking facilities, a fridge, bathroom with shower, TV, free WI-FI, and communal laundry facilities.
All the apartments have splendid views of the surrounding countryside as well as olive trees, vineyards, roofs and towers of the village.
