It demonstrates how to set up your EndNote library, import citations from a database, change the reference style, and insert citations. 1. Once EndNote is downloaded, open the program and create a new library by selecting File. Then click New and Save. Create only one library as multiple libraries can cause technical issues.

This tutorial will help you get started using EndNote on Mac. It demonstrates how to set up your EndNote library, import citations from a database, change the reference style, and insert citations.

1. To get started, you will need to download EndNote from https://aspnetweb.pace.edu/adam/. Please be sure to downloading EndNote on your personal computer and not university owned device.

2. Once EndNote is downloaded, open the program and create a new library by

selecting File. Then click New and Save. Create only one library as multiple

libraries can cause technical issues.

3. In a browser (i.e. Chrome, Firefox, Safari) go to the Pace University Library

Databases. Select the appropriate database for your search. Examples- Artemis

Literary Resources and PubMed.

Example 1: Artemis Literary Resources

i. Open up the Artemis Literary database. Search and select for an

article of your choice.

ii. Open the article and click on Citation Tools at the top right corner

of the page.

iii. In the popup, select EndNote; an RIS file will down

iv. Click on the download and it will open in EndNote where you can

reform the style as you wish.

Example 2: PubMed

i. Open the PubMed database and search for an article.

ii. Once you’ve selected an article of your choice

iii. A .txt file will download. Save the file.

iv. Open EndNote, click File, select Import and then browse for your

saved download.

v. Choose your saved file and under Import Option, select PubMed

(NLM), and then click on Import.

4. Once imported, you can format your citations. Click on the dropdown menu to choose one of the styles listed or Select Another Style for more options.

5. This will open the EndNote Styles popup where you can choose your desired style.
