In 1961 disposable diapers were introduced and by 1991, approximately 90% of babies in the United States now wore disposable diapers. Coincidentally, the occurrence of diaper rash has increased from 7% in 1955 to 78% in 1991. Do you really know what’s in a disposable diaper?

An estimated 18 billion disposable diapers are thrown in landfills each year, taking as many as 500 years to decompose, and commonly contain raw, untreated sewage.
