FOSTER CARE RESPITE TRAINING September 27th, 6:00 Haban Hall Respite care is a method of providing temporary respite (a break) for licensed foster parents. By receiving training you are taking a first step to experience the great rewards that come from making a difference in a child’s life. For many years foster parents in our community have provided tem-porary & long/short-term care to children and adolescence, ages 0-18, who must live apart from their own families for various reasons. These unique and wonderfully caring indi-viduals open their home and hearts to parent another’s child during a time of family crisis.
YOUNG ADULT BIBLE STUDY Each week will consist of a weekly conversation topic, a
game, and fellowship. In this Bible study, we will not talk
about high and mighty things; we will have conversations
about how scripture passages relate to daily life. Topics will
include discipline, prayer, commitment and worry. The fo-
cus is to have a good time, grow in holiness and enjoy each
other’s company. For information about times and loca-
tions, or for general questions, contact Nick at 634-5526 or
Our sympathy and the promise of our prayers to the family of Fr. Michael G. Savio. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the
mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

received a $300.00 grant. The Alpa Center (A Division of
Birthright of Racine) has as its purpose to serve women by
offering emotional, practical support and also offer referral
services to support the principle that it is the right of every
child to be born. As a pro-life pregnancy center, the Alpha
Center offers women alternatives to abortion. Anyone
qualifies for their services. The Alpha Center has served the
Racine area since 1974 on the campus of Wheaton Francis-
can Hospital. Outreach is just one of the may Human Con-
cerns activities at Sacred Heart Church.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK September 23rd and 24th
We will be celebrating the sacrament of the anointing of the
sick on September 23rd and 24th at all Masses. Those who
are sick, or have an ongoing illness or are suffering the in-
firmities of old age are eligible to receive the sacrament.
The communal celebration of this sacrament, like all the
sacraments, finds its normative setting at the heart of the
parish community during Mass on the Lord’s Day. If you
know people who would benefit from this sacrament of
healing, they are invited to partake of this sacrament during
Mass.
