Recap of the announcement
On Oct. 29, IBM and Twitter announced a landmark partnership to transform how
businesses and institutions inform every business decision.
The alliance brings together Twitter data with IBM’s industry-leading, cloud-based
analytics and customer engagement platforms.
The collaboration will focus on three areas:
1. Integration of Twitter data with IBM analytic services on the cloud:
• For business users: Watson Analytics, Social Media Analytics
• For developers and entrepreneurs: IBM DataWorks, Analytics for Hadoop,
Bluemix services
2. Development of new data-intensive capabilities for the enterprise, beginning with
IBM’s ExperienceOne customer engagement solutions.
3. Specialized enterprise consulting, drawing on the skills of thousands of Global
Business Services and application professionals, and IBM Interactive
