A lead generation card is an ad or “card” that is attached to a
tweet.
Once your followers click the ad, you’ll be granted access to
their names, email addresses and twitter handles.
A lead generation card is made up of two parts:
1. The tweet that the card is attached to
2. The lead generation card itself

Lead generation cards were initially launched by Twitter in
early 2014, but only a limited number of users were given
access to experiment with them.
In September, all Twitter users were granted access to
create lead generation cards through the Twitter Ads
Interface.
Currently, there is no charge to create and run lead
generation cards, but this can change at any time.

Twitter Ads.
Lead generation cards are free to use, but a credit card must
be provided for access to Twitter’s “Creatives” tab, where
you’ll be able to create them.

3. Customize lead generation card by filling in the required
fields: short description, image and call to action.
Remember to provide a link to the privacy policy on your
website.

You can also provide a landing page on your site where the
visitor is taken after they click on your call to action.
It is possible to send leads directly to your CRM, however
additional data settings are required.
Once you’re finished building the lead generation card, save
the page to update the settings.

Twitter’s lead generation cards have only been available for
a short while so there are very little analytics available to
report on results.
In a case study, Adobe reported that their client; Mount
Washington College, received good results.
Lead generation cards probably won’t produce a high
volume of leads, but the ones they do produce will be of high
quality.
