Thank you for your recent membership enquiry. West Malling is a family owned and operated Golf Club

that first opened for play in 1974. The courses are surrounded by beautiful undulating countryside, with

many mature trees and panoramic views overlooking the North Downs.

Designed by the legendary former Open Champion and 5 times Ryder Cup player Max Faulkner, West

Malling Golf Club sits in the heart of Kent. Originally only 18 holes, the course was extended and split

into two back in the late eighties. The two courses, Spitfire and Hurricane, named in honour of the iconic

fighter planes that flew out of the nearby airfield at West Malling during the Second World War, are seen

as challenge for all standards of golfer.

The courses are complemented by two putting greens, a covered eleven bay driving range, Bar and

Restaurant and state of the art indoor golf simulator, offering you the chance to play one of 60

worldwide golf courses.

A well- stocked shop and an experienced team of resident PGA professionals can provide a wide

selection of quality merchandise at competitive prices and personal services to supplement your golfing

requirements.

We a are lucky enough to have a thriving Men’s, Ladies, Seniors and Juniors sections, with many

organised golfing competitions and social events.

Then they are permitted to use the courses alone with the following restrictions: - Anytime Monday to Friday, after 12 noon Saturday & Sunday unless playing with a parent or guardian who is a full member.

We ask that all members (excluding juniors) commit to a yearly spend of £150.00 within the club. This

will be added to the annual subscription or if paying monthly will be taken in two payments, £75.00 in

January and £75.00 in June. (Please note this may be used to purchase, food, beverages, range credits,

The Shop at West Malling is one of the largest on course golf shops in Kent, with emphases on golf

lessons, custom fitting of golf clubs and Ladies and gents clothing. With Six full time PGA professionals

and two further sales assistant we are looking to provide expertise and customer service to all who visit

the shop.

Our Custom fitting service aims to allow the golfer to see ‘the ball fly’ allowing you to see the results with

your own eyes. Our custom fit specialists are not only extremely well trained but have a great product

knowledge of the brands we stock, therefore making sure you go away with the right product for your

golf game. We currently custom fit the following seven brands, Titleist, Callaway, Taylor-Made, Yonex,

Ping, Mizuno and Cobra. And hold a vast array of shafts and heads.

Our ladies and Gents clothing sections are renowned throughout the county, with brands such as Ecco ,

Adidas, Footjoy, Nike, Daily Sportswear, Under Armour, Rohnisch, Galvin Green, Puma plus many more.

our custom fit experience. So what is custom fit? Custom fit is a process that allows our expert fitters to

make up a set of clubs that are made specifically for your swing.

fitting system to make the right clubs for you.

Acceptable Dress Attire Shirts Men’s shirts must have collars and sleeves. Ladies shirts must have a collar. Shorts Tailored or three quarter length shorts are permitted. Terms & Conditions

General

1.1 The following Terms & Conditions apply to all golfing members at West Malling Golf Club.

1.2 By paying for an annual or monthly subscription you are deemed to have done so in full knowledge and acceptance of these terms & conditions.

1.3 These terms & conditions may be changed at any time and without prior notice.

1.4 Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.

1.5 Applications for membership are approved or otherwise at the sole discretion of West Malling Golf Club Kent Ltd and membership does not

commence until an application or renewal has been accepted by West Malling Golf Club Kent Ltd and the appropriate payment is received.

1.6 Granting of membership entitles you to use the facilities at West Malling Golf Club for the relevant membership year only, in accordance with the

restrictions applicable to your membership category and these terms & conditions.

1.7 Granting of membership does not imply an automatic right to renew membership in subsequent membership years.

1.8 We reserve the right to limit the number of members in any given membership category, to amend the allocation of exclusive visitor or member tee

times or to close the course at any time. Any such decision will not be made unreasonably but may be made at the sole discretion of West Malling Golf

Club Ltd.

1.9 Data Protection. You consent to our use of the information given by you, including your personal information, for the administration of your

membership and our marketing purposes. We will not pass on your information to third parties for marketing purposes.

2 Subscription

2.1 Subscriptions are payable by Cheque. Credit/Debit Card or Direct Debit.

2.2 If Direct Debit payments are offered for a specific category, then failure to meet the agreed payment schedule will result in membership being

cancelled immediately. No refund will be given for payments made up to that point. Direct Debit payments are offered at the discretion of West Malling

Golf Club (Kent) Ltd.

2.3 You are able to pay your membership annually, this payment will be held by the club and will be allocated to your membership in 12 monthly

instalments.

2.4 In the event of termination of membership within the membership year, for whatever reason there will be no refund of membership subscriptions

unless there are exceptional and legitimate medical grounds for such termination. West Malling Golf Club Kent Ltd reserves the right to request written

documentation from a Medical Doctor to confirm such grounds. The final decision on whether a refund is granted rests entirely with West Malling Golf

Club Kent Ltd.

2.5 All membership categories maybe changed, removed or merged with other categories without prior notice. However notice will be given as early as

possible.

3 Use of the Course

3.1 Members must have their Bag Tag clearly visible at all times whilst on the course.

3.2 Members should carry their membership card with them at all times when using the facilities.

3.3 Members must adhere to the dress code at all times whilst on the course:

3.3.1 Golf shoes to be worn at all times

3.3.2 No jeans or track/shell suits

3.3.3 Golf shirts with collar or polo neck, no t-shirts or sleeveless shirts

3.3.4 Tailored shorts with sports socks are permissible (short socks must be white)

3.4 Adhere to local rules for the day including the specified tee of the day.

3.5 Avoid slow play, always exhibit high standards of etiquette, courtesy for others and respect for the course (i.e. repair pitch marks, rake bunkers etc)

3.6 Alcohol is not permitted on the course without the prior permission of West Malling Golf Club Kent Ltd.

3.7 Greens staff have priority at all times. When green staff are working on a green and the flag is removed, the green is not in play and you must wait

until the flag is replaced.

3.8 Dogs (with the exception of guide dogs) are not permitted on the course without prior permission.

3.9 West Malling Golf Club (Kent) Ltd reserves the right to make changes and alterations to the courses as necessary for the benefit of both business

and aesthetic purposes. These changes may be made by the Directors of the company without prior written notice to any member.

4 General Behaviour & Dress Code

4.1 There is no smoking allowed in any areas of the Clubhouse, Pro Shop or other properties at West Malling Golf Club.

4.2 General bad behaviour and use of bad language will not be tolerated anywhere at West Malling Golf Club, and sanctions may be applied if this

policy is not observed.

4.3 A reasonable standard of dress is expected at all times at West Malling Golf Club – for example headwear should be removed whilst in the bar or

restaurant and shoes must be worn at all times. West Malling Golf Club Kent Ltd reserves the right to deny access to anyone it believes is not

appropriately dressed.

5 Membership Card

5.1 All members will be issued with an individual membership card.

5.2 Membership cards are not transferrable.

5.3 West Malling Golf Club Kent Ltd cannot be held liable for any loss incurred due to the loss of a membership card. It is the member’s responsibility to

inform West Malling Golf Club of any loss as soon as possible so the card can be cancelled.

5.4 West Malling Golf Club Kent Ltd reserves the right to charge a fee for re-issuing lost or damaged cards.

5.5 Membership cards offer no credit or debit facility and accounts must be kept in credit in order to make a purchase i.e. purchases cannot be made

without there first being sufficient funds in your account.

5.6 The minimum card credit top up is £5.00.

5.7 Card credit can be carried over to the next membership year providing the member renews without a break in membership. However card money

that has not been used which is part of your yearly subscriptions will be lost if not used in the current year’s membership. If a member does not renew,

or their membership is cancelled at any time, they are not entitled to a refund should the card account be in credit.

6 Member Benefits

6.1. We reserve the rights to amend member benefits at any time.

6.1.Guest Discounted Green Fee Vouchers can only be used by guests when accompanied by the member in question. Maximum 3 guests per member

per day.

6.1. Guests cannot play in competitions or apply for a handicap at West Malling.

7 Equipment Including Buggies

7.1 Buggy hire is at the discretion of the management to each individual. All hires must be paid for prior to your round and each buggy is designated for

one single 18 hole use unless otherwise pre-arranged before hire.

7.2 Individual hiring the buggy will be held liable for any costs incurred in repairs or replacements to any fixtures and fittings, property or equipment at

West Malling which has been deliberately, negligently or wantonly damaged. This also applies to the course and surrounding areas.

7.2 If you are unsure how to operate the Buggies safely you must raise this with a member of staff before using the buggy.

8 General Liability

8.1 West Malling Golf Club (Kent) Limited cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to members property whilst at West Malling Golf Club.

8.2 The golf course and surrounding areas are a natural environment, with woodland, ponds and of course the river. Paths are undulating and there can

be unexpected conditions under foot (rabbit scrapings etc). Whilst all efforts are made to make this as safe an environment as possible we must

balance that with a desire to leave the environment as natural as possible. West Malling Golf Club (Kent) Ltd cannot be held liable for any injury caused

by slips, trip or falls or any other such incident whilst at West Malling Golf Club.

9. Monthly Direct Debit

9.1 Monthly direct debit payments will be collected on or around the 27th

of every month, and will cover the period of the 1st – end of the following

month.

9.2 The collection of direct debits is made in accordance with the Direct Debit Guarantee.

9.2 A £5.00 administration charge will be applied if the direct debit is returned.

10 Monthly Direct Debit

10.1 Monthly direct debit payments will be collected on or around the 27th

of every month, and will cover the period of the 1st – end of the following

month.

10.2 The collection of direct debits is made in accordance with the Direct Debit Guarantee.

10.3 A £5.00 administration charge will be applied if the direct debit is returned.

11. Ending your Membership

11.1 All direct debit membership contracts are for a minimum of 12 months. You may not cancel your membership before this.

11.2 You need do nothing to continue your membership after completing your initial 12 months. We will automatically continue collecting the Direct

Debit payment amount every month unless informed before the 15th of the current month. By paying the 1

st months payment of each year,

automatically commits you to another 12 months membership. Each payment made is non-refundable under any circumstance.

12. Hurricane Membership Only

12.1 The subscription applies to the Hurricane Course only

12.2 Members can be signed in at the Guest Rate by a Full Member on the Spitfire Course up to four times every year. After which access to the Spitfire

course is by full green fee payment only.

12.3 Players can only enter competitions being held on the Hurricane Course.

12.4 During ‘The Masters weekend’ and The Club Championship the Hurricane course will be closed.

13 Breach of these terms & conditions and Conduct

13.1 Violation of any of these terms & conditions, or conduct in a manner prejudicial to the best interests of West Malling Golf Club, including rude or

offensive behaviour, will subject the person in violation to disciplinary action by West Malling Golf Club (Kent) Ltd, including possible termination of

membership.

13.2 West Malling Golf Club (Kent) Ltd reserves the right to decide whether disciplinary action is required.

13.3 A decision to take disciplinary action and the level of appropriate sanction will be decided by the General Manager of West Malling Golf Club (Kent)

Ltd.

13.4 A member may appeal the General Managers decision by writing to a Director of West Malling Golf Club Kent Ltd within 7 days of the decision

being confirmed to the member.

13.5 Any sanctions taken against an individual for a breach of these terms & conditions of membership (which may in extreme cases include the

banning of an individual from West Malling Golf Club (Kent) Ltd property) is done so at the sole discretion of West Malling Golf Club (Kent) Ltd and

following consideration of any appeal by the individual by a Director, any decision will be final.

West Malling Golf Club (Kent) Ltd, reserves the right, without prior notice to change/amend any of the terms and conditions written above.
