1 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. John 3:16. Have you ever wondered what the depth for God’s love is for you? Do you know the grace and love of God-for you? Let’s go back to the beginning and let me show you what I mean. God’s love for us started in Genesis: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” Before there was creation; there was only God. Before time, outside of time as we know it, when nothing else existed, there was God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) complete and perfect in unity and relationship. Then God spoke, and creation came into being out of nothing. We see this in John, the word was with God, the word was God and all things were made through him. It is important for us to understand that God did not need creation. God was not lonely. God did not require an audience to admire him. God created for one reason and one reason only - out of love. He created us in his image and breathed into us the breath of life. And he did it out of love. When we rebelled, he did not abandon us. Instead he put into place a plan for the redemption of creation- all out of love. From the beginning, God knew that the cross was coming - he knew we couldn’t get it right. Prophecy after prophecy shows us that God already knew that the Son would have to die, and the Holy Spirit would have to enter us anew. God knew that to love us meant that he would have to bring us into relationship in order to redeem creation, and still he created, and he did it because he loved us. Now that’s grace. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.

John 3:16.

Have you ever wondered what the depth for God’s love is for

you? Do you know the grace and love of God-for you? Let’s go

back to the beginning and let me show you what I mean.

God’s love for us started in Genesis:

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the

earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of

the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And

God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”

Before there was creation; there was only God. Before time,

outside of time as we know it, when nothing else existed, there

was God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) complete and

perfect in unity and relationship. Then God spoke, and creation

came into being out of nothing. We see this in John, the word

was with God, the word was God and all things were made

through him. It is important for us to understand that God did

not need creation. God was not lonely. God did not require an

audience to admire him. God created for one reason and one

reason only - out of love. He created us in his image and

breathed into us the breath of life. And he did it out of love.

When we rebelled, he did not abandon us. Instead he put into

place a plan for the redemption of creation- all out of love. From

the beginning, God knew that the cross was coming - he knew

we couldn’t get it right. Prophecy after prophecy shows us that

God already knew that the Son would have to die, and the Holy

Spirit would have to enter us anew. God knew that to love us

meant that he would have to bring us into relationship in order

to redeem creation, and still he created, and he did it because

he loved us. Now that’s grace.

Atchison County Methodist Women of the Word continues into July and August!

We want to invite the women of both churches to be literally ‘on the same page’ this summer by joining our summer Bible reading challenge! There is just something so powerful knowing we are all reading and praying over the same scriptures everyday...image what we could do and how we will be moved by the spirit!

To help feel united and to help encourage each other we have created a Facebook page for our group! Search for Atchison County Methodist Women of the Word to find and join our group. We will share thoughts and discussions on the scriptures by posting in the fb group! Contact Cathy Riggins or Regina Quimby or the church office, if you’d like a copy of the reading schedule!! Happy Reading and God bless you all!

Festival of Sharing: Asking for donations of CWS Hygiene Kits from June 7th through July 5th. Use the list shown below for items and place into a 1 gallon zippered bag. (please insert ONLY the number and/or sizes mentioned) Then bring your kit(s) to church (Westboro UMC or Tarkio UMC) and place them in the designated boxes.

the month, Westboro UMC asks for donations (food or monetary) for the local food pantry.

Thanks

Thank you to Pastor

Julie and all who

helped in creating the

Online Worship through this early Covid-19 time. And thank you to all who went online and watched! Starting in July, we will still be online but only the sermon...no music, kid’s time etc. as all that will be happening in morning church!

Thank you Craig Martin and Kim & Myra Evans for delivering Friday Meals on Wheels June 12th and 19th.

A BIG thanks goes out

to everyone who helped with our Mobile Day Camp held the middle of June. We had on average, 67 kids attend—and we all know what a year it’s been, so that’s awesome!
