Morrissey is an artist that was formly in the band, The Smiths. In 1988 his released the album “Viva Hate” which announced Morrissey as a solo artist. The album reached the top of the charts and stayed number one for 20 weeks. He has put out 11 albums now and on March 26, 2012, EMI music will re-release his album “Viva Hate.” In addition they will aslo be re-releasing his single “Suedehead” on April 23, 2012.
The target audience includes music fans of The Smiths and Morrissey. With this re-release there are hopes of reaching out to the younger generation music enthusiasts as well.
To announce the re-release of a mastered version of Morrissey’s debut album and limited edition single in an innovative and exciting manner using typography.
Creating a dynamic and visualy appealing representation of Morrissey using onlytypography. As well as reaching out to a newer generation audience by creating a large enough reaction to cause an excitment of an album that has already been released.
Morrissey is a well known artist and has an extended history in the profession. He is also a very iconic figure that can be represented in an abstract way and still be recognizable.
The album reached top of the charts when it was originally released and this remastered re-relase will have the same excitement and emotion put into the release.
