Brief-The Type Factory is a typographic museum aimed at informing both
the experienced and inexperienced about the art of typography. Due to the
imprecise nature of the target audience I decided to focus on the inexperienced;
specifically the 12-18-age range. Getting this audience to engage is of paramount
importance for them to intake the information. It is this interaction that forms
the identity for the Type factory. Looking specifically at deconstructivism has
allowed me to create the identity that is based of reconstruction and creation, an
ethos that runs through the entirety of the identity.
Concept-This typeface is used to create the identity of the museum, and
embodies the deconstructive nature of the inspiration for the museum.
The design took stimulus from building bocks, which again exemplifies the
reconstructive nature of the ethos.

Concept-The identity for the Type Factory is constantly changing and appears
interactive or appears to be reconstructing. The lines are representative of a
typographic grid system, which again apposes the deconstruction.

Concept-The Way finding for the Type Factory follows the same precepts as
the rest of the identity using a deconstructed grid system, however still not losing
legibility whilst giving the impression of movement or reconstruction.

Concept-I wanted the website of the Type Factory to follow the deconstructive
nature of the identity however not to the extent where legibility was sacrificed,
therefore I kept to a more stereotypical grid system. The website is a tool
designed to further target the desired audience and make them interact with the
brand and thus learn on the subject matter.
