IntroductionPollution is a necessary evil of all development. Due to lack of

development of a culture of pollution control, there has resulted a heavy backlog of gaseous, liquid and solid pollution in

environment. It has to be cleaned. Pollution control is a recent environmental concern. Pollution is a man-made problem, mainly

of effluent countries. The developed countries have been exploiting every bit of natural

resource to convert them into goods for their comfort, and to export them to needy developing world. In doing so, the

industrialized countries dump lot of materials in their environment which becomes polluted. In one way pollution has been “exported” to developing countries and around the world.

DefinitionWhen Harmful Substances

Contaminate the Environment it is Called Pollution.

Pollution refers to the very bad condition of environment in terms of quantity and quality .

Page 7: Types of pollution

There are Four types of pollution

Water PollutionAir PollutionSoil PollutionNoise Pollution

Page 8: Types of pollution

Water Pollution It is defined as addition of any substance in

water which will change its properties.Sources of water Pollution Throwing of industrial waste in water Agricultural waste Domestic waste are thrown into the water Roadside waste

Page 9: Types of pollution

Causes of Water Pollution

About 40% of Deaths worldwide are caused by Water Pollution.

Water Pollution is Caused by organic and inorganic industrial wastes.

Underground Storage leaks also Causes of Water Pollution

Air Pollution When the Air Contains gases, dust, fumes or odor in harmful amounts then it’s called Air Pollution.Sources of Air Pollution Domestic burning of wood Industrialization Deforestation Mining, volcanic eruption Automobile emissions

Causes of Air Pollution

Major sources of Air Pollution IndustriesAutomobiles and Domestic

fuelsUndesirable gases, such as

sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide

Noise Pollution Unwanted sound which causes hazards to

the living organisms.Sources of noise Pollution Industrial noise Noise due to public Aircrafts noise Noise due to loud speaker, music etc.

Causes of Noise Pollution

Traffic NoiseAir craft NoiseNoise from construction and

civil engineering works.Noise from the Industries.Noise from other sources.

Soil Pollution Soil is getting polluted day by day due to

addition of toxic substances in the soil.Sources of soil Pollution industrial waste are dumped in into the soil. Mining Agricultural waste Toxic chemicals gets added to the soil.

Page 15: Types of pollution

Causes of Soil Pollution

We can classify major sources that lead to Soil following Categories Acid Rain Agricultural Activities Household Garbage Industrial Waste Oil and Fuel Dumping

Page 16: Types of pollution

Effects Of Pollution Water Pollution :- Diseases like Cholera, Malaria,

Typhoid (spread during the rainy season ) , Aquatic life is destroyed

Air Pollution :- Human health, Animals, Plants, The atmosphere as a whole, Acid rain

Noise Pollution :- Hearing Loss, High Blood Pressure, Stress, Sleep Disturbance, Color Blindness

Soil Pollution :-Eating fruits and vegetables that have been grown in polluted soil, Breathing in polluted dust or particles.

Page 17: Types of pollution

Solution of Pollution By Planting more and more tree. By controlling vehicular emissions By filtering emissions from industries so that it will not

pollute the environment. By proper sewage treatment By using proper disposing of waste. Recycling of materials used.

ConclusionPollution is a life killer, but also a life saver. It’s true that Pollution has made some disastrous effects. Pollution is becoming closer to put life on the verge of death. It has killed many lives already. Technology has been the responsible one for most of the Pollution that exists today. Technology has been evolving to make this world a better place. Nowadays, technology is being cleaner to conserve Earth. Also, it has been cleaning Earth. Technology will progress over the years to make Earth a healthier living experience.
