1. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL (ESC) MEASURES WILL BE IMPLEMENTED PRIOR TO, ANDMAINTAINED DURING CONSTRUCTION OF EACH PHASE, TO PREVENT ENTRY OF SEDIMENT INTOTHE WATER. ALL DAMAGED EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES SHOULD BEREPAIRED AND/OR REPLACED WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE INSPECTION.
2. ALL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES, WILL BE CONTROLLED TO PREVENTTHE ENTRY OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS, DEBRIS, RUBBLE, CONCRETE OR OTHER DELETERIOUSSUBSTANCES INTO THE WATER. VEHICULAR REFUELING AND MAINTENANCE WILL BECONDUCTED 30 METRES FROM THE WATER.

17. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ADDITIONAL SEDIMENT AND EROSIONCONTROLS, AS DESCRIBED IN THE "GGHA CAS EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROL GUIDELINESFOR URBAN CONSTRUCTION" SUCH AS INTERCEPTOR SWALES/DIKES, ROCK CHECK DAMS,SEDIMENT TRAPS, ETC. TO PREVENT SEDIMENTS FROM THEIR CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONSFROM ENTERING THE EXISTING AND PROPOSED STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.
18. THE EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL STRATEGIES OUTLINED ON THE PLANS ARE NOT STATICAND MAY NEED TO BE UPGRADED/AMENDED AS SITE CONDITIONS CHANGE TO MINIMIZESEDIMENT LADEN RUNOFF FROM LEAVING THE WORK AREAS. IF THE PRESCRIBED MEASURESON THE PLANS ARE NOT EFFECTIVE IN PREVENTING THE RELEASE OF A DELETERIOUSSUBSTANCE, INCLUDING SEDIMENT, THEN ALTERNATIVE MEASURES MUST BE IMPLEMENTEDIMMEDIATELY TO MINIMIZE POTENTIAL ECOLOGICAL IMPACTS.
