How to Update Asset ManagementLogging in to Asset Management

Ways to Access the Basic Add Asset Application1. On the Financials Homepage select Basic Add Asset tile if you currently have it
2. Using the search function:a. Click the magnifying glass icon near the top right corner of the page

c. Select the second entry, Basic Add
3. Using the Navigator route:a. Click the compass icon at the top right corner of the page
b. The NavBar will pop-up on the right-hand side of the screen and click the Navigator icon

c. Scroll down the menu and click on Asset Management, then click on Asset Transactions
d. Click on Owned Assets entry, then click on Basic Add
Adding Basic Add Asset Application to Your Financials Homepage or Favorites
1. Once you are in the Basic Add Asset application, click the bar icon at the top right corner of the screen.

2. Click on the Add to Homepage option from the menu to add tile to your homepage or click on the Add to Favorites option from the menu to add application to your favorites that you can access from the compass icon menu.
Searching for a Specific Tag Number1. In the Find an Existing Value tab, in the Business Unit field, make sure that UMICH is entered
into this field.2. Next in the Tag Number field, type the asset tag number, i.e. A5XXXXX, 3XXXXX, 7XXXXX, or
8XXXXX where X represents a numerical value.3. Click Search at the bottom left of the page or press enter.

How to Update Asset Location1. Click the Location/Comments/Attributes tab
2. Under the Location section, click the icon on the top right corner of this section
3. Click the icon next to Location field
4. In the pop-up, type the room number in the Room field, then click Look Up or press enter

5. A list will appear with all possible locations that correspond with the values you entered, select your location from this list
6. Click Save at the bottom left corner of the screen

How to Update Asset Notes/Comments1. Click the Location/Comments/Attributes tab
2. If there are prior comments, add your comments in the Comments section in the following manner:
a. Click the icon on the top right corner of this section. This step is not necessary if there are no prior comments in the record.
b. In the Name field, type your name in all capitals and no spaces
c. Type your comments in the Comment field in all capitals
3. Click Save at the bottom left corner of the screen

How to Update AttachmentsTo upload pictures and other attachments
1. Click the General Information tab
2. Click the Attachments link towards the bottom of the page
3. Click Add Attachment in the Attachments pop-up
4. Click Browse in the File Attachment pop-up

5. Select your file then click Upload
6. Once uploaded, fill in a basic description of attachment in all capitals in the Description field
7. Repeat as needed then click OK to close pop-up
8. Click Save at the bottom left corner of the screen
To upload overview picture of item1. Click the Location/Comments/Attributes tab
2. Scroll down to the Image section, click the triangle icon to the left of Image header to expand the section

5. Select your image file then click Upload

How to Update Custodian/Contact InformationContact Information
1. Click the Operation/Maintenance tab
2. Under the Other Information section, in the Contact field, type name of the contact in all capitals with no spaces and in the Phone # field, type the contact’s phone number
3. Click Save at the bottom left corner of the screen
Custodian Information1. Click the Manufacture/License/Custodian tab
2. Under the Custodian Information section, click the icon on the top right corner of the section
3. Type in new custodian name in the Custodian field in all capitals with no spaces
4. Click Save at the bottom left corner of the screen

How to Update Serial/Model NumbersSerial Numbers
1. Click the Operation/Maintenance tab
2. Under the Manufacturer Information section, in the Serial ID field, type in or edit serial number
3. Click Save at the bottom left corner of the screen
Model Numbers1. Click on the Operation/Maintenance tab
2. Under the Manufacturer information section, there are two ways to add or edit the model number
a. Type model number in the Model field
b. Using the search function i. Click the icon to the right of the field

ii. In the Look Up Model pop-up, type the first few letters or numbers. Then click Look Up or press enter to generate a list
iii. Pick your model from the list
