Liu Xiang was born in Shanghai in 1983. Training was started at a sports school in 1993.
In 1998 his hurdling skill was noticed and the
training programme was changed in 2001. Races
were won by him in Switzerland and Korea in
2002 and an Olympic gold medal was won by
him in 2004. He’ll be asked to appear in films,
advertisements and (to) record songs in the future.
