The opportunity: Carbon credit market now worth $122 billion. By 2020 projected worth: $1.9 trillion

In 2007 Albemarle Kapital gains first Host Country Approval for carbon reduction project in Uzbekistan

The goal of the Samarqand landfill project is to improve the landfill, destroy methane emissions and construct a

composting facility

The projects finances are underwritten by the value of the future carbon credits which generate real financial

returns

Due to the financial crisis the ability to invest in projects ceased for a number of years. Throughout this time Albemarle has sought alternative solutions to raising capital

In partnership with Frontier Carbon we now have significant financial backing from the US-listed investment group, Blue Sphere. Blue Sphere is investing $80 million in its existing project pipeline

We have already structured insurance around the Samarqand landfill project and will commence investing in early 2011
