Fall 2018 UC Application &
Admission Timeline
Application Dates
November 1-30th: apply to UC campuses
January 2018: Update UC application with fall grades & any changes to spring 2018 courses
March 2nd: Filing period for SBCC Scholarships, FASFA and Cal Grant Verification
Admissions Dates
May 1st: UC admissions notification deadline
*UCSB begins notifying students in mid-March on a rolling basis, in no particular order
*UCB and UCLA are typically the last two campuses to notify students
On or before June 1st: Submit UC Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to accept or deny offer of admissions.
July1st: Official transcripts with spring 2018 grades must be postmarked or submitted electronically to the UC
admissions office.
July 15th: IGETC certification (if applicable) & official AP exam results due to UC admissions office.
*The IGETC certification form can be submitted upon completion of coursework, admissions notification and
your transfer institution decision. Forms found at SBCC Transfer Center SS 140.

Did you submit a TAG?
❖ If you submitted a TAG for Fall 2018, your courses
from the Transfer Admission Planner will be
uploaded to the UC application.
❖ Follow the directions in the application to enable the
transfer of information.
❖ After your courses from the Transfer Admission
Planner appear in your UC application, review each
semester to make sure all of your courses are
recorded in the application
Personal Insight Questions…..
★ The UC application is both for admissions and UC
scholarships.
★ All applicants must provide responses to the
Personal Insight Questions.
★ UC Berkeley and UCLA use the Personal Insight
Questions in considering you for admissions. All UC
campuses use your responses for UC scholarships but
not necessarily for admissions.
★ The Transfer Center is offering workshops on the
Insight Questions.
Application Tips
➢ If you will have 60 or more transferable units completed by the end of
spring semester your application level is a JUNIOR not a sophomore
or senior.
➢ Apply broadly and use your alternate major option if available.
➢ Don’t send transcripts until they are requested.
➢ If you have attended a non-U.S. college or university the UC will ask
you to provide transcripts prior to admission decision.
➢ You must enter all the courses that appear on your transcripts include
in progress and planned courses. If you don’t know what courses you
need to take for Spring semester, meet with a counselor as soon as
possible.
Application Fee
1. There is a $70 application fee per campus.
2. A waiver is available but determined only
after you hit submit.
3. The waiver will cover the cost of 4 campuses.
