Need some help with registration… UC peer advisors at the Downtown Phoenix, Tempe, and West campuses can assist you in registering for classes, managing your MYASU accounts, conducting a major and/or class search, etc. Peer advisors are available during and after enrollment appointments. UC peer advisors can recommend general studies classes, (based on your academic advisor’s suggestions, and give insight into intro courses. However, UC peer advisors will NOT recommend courses for specific major exploration.

Meet your peer advisors:

Carson Cook (Tempe) I am a junior majoring in psychology and minoring in political science. I have been a peer advisor at University College since the fall of 2010 and though I did not start out as an exploratory student, I have done significant exploration of a variety of fields and interests in my time at ASU. Alvaro Salcedo (West) I am a sophomore here at ASU. I was a University College student until the end of my second semester. I declared my major in secondary education with the emphasis in Spanish. Now, I am currently a Spanish major and will be declaring my minor in graphic design by the end of this semester. I have lived on both the Downtown Phoenix and Tempe campuses. Through struggling to find the right major for me, I have learned what my true passions and interests are. Hilda Torres (Tempe) I am a sophomore majoring in speech and hearing science, minoring in psychology here at ASU and am originally from Houston, Texas. I was an exploratory student during my freshman year, and it wasn’t until the end of my second semester that I declared both my major and minor. From freshmen to alumni, this event is open to ALL and is a great place to begin gathering information about your career and job options, in addition to networking with recruiters.

March 8 │ 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM Location: Student Union - Cooley Ballrooms Learn how to make the transition from backpack to briefcase; jeans and t-shirt to suit and tie. Come learn how to dress for interviewing and other career-related events. Impress your prospective employer, whether you are entering your career field for an internship or full-time employment. Clothing will be modeled by our own Polytechnic students.

Etiquette Dinner

March 15 │ 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Location: Student Union - Cooley ballrooms Cost: $5.00 Come learn how to properly conduct yourself during a business meeting or interview that is held over a formal meal. Learn what not to order, what to drink and how to pass the food properly! Each table is hosted by an industry executive who offers advice and practice on proper protocol during the dinner. An RSVP and payment is required in person at the Poly Student Union information desk by March 12th at 5:00 PM.
