“There are many who think we are in ‘the last
days of the world’; however this is a
misapprehension the like of which is not
uncommonly made at critical junctures in the
history of the Church. We are not in the last
days of the world, but in the last days of an
epoch which began three centuries ago, and at
the opening of a new one.” [On the Mission of
New Religious Communities, 1876]
If you have asked Fr. Hecker to pray for you or for
another person who was ill, and you believe something miraculous has happened,
call Fr. Paul Robichaud, CSP, at (202) 269-2519 and tell him your story.
Fr. Isaac Hecker, Founder
of the Paulist Fathers
Fr. Isaac Hecker Qu6e
Today’s Gospel reading is a biblical basis for the sacrament of the
Anointing of the Sick. How often do you pray for the sick?

Special collection For Nepal • May 23-24
The Diocese of Austin will take up a
special collection on the weekend of
May 23-24, 2015, for the work of
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in Nepal
to assist those who have suffered as a
result of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake
which struck April 25, toppling buildings and homes, causing
widespread panic, and claiming thousands of lives. CRS is the
official humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the U.S.
and is already responding to urgent needs for shelter, water, and
food in Nepal. For more information, go to CRS.org.
