Welcome to our “home”. This is how we, the Salesians refer to the different spaces in which we operate, whether in the area of education, social action, or evangelization. And just like a home, we know it’s in it that we feel good, welcomed, loved and heard. And we want you, students who are arriving now or returning from the holidays, to feel that way every time they are at Don Bosco Catholic University. We are a Catholic and Salesian institution, based on teaching, research, extension and pastoral work - the latter, an important differential in the training of professionals and which we are proud to maintain and strengthen. This is reflected in the way of educating, being close to students, permeating activities and humanizing relationships more.May this semester be very productive, with the blessings of God! Fr. Freshmen and veterans were welcomed on the first day of class (31/01), at Don Bosco Catholic University (UCDB), by professors and collaborators dressed up with the characters of a famous game of the 80’s and still a fever nowadays. After the presentations made in the classroom, the athletic band were announcing the show of the pair Manu & Rafael, held on the lawn of block A.

“We are celebrating a very special day. We started the academic activities and also celebrated the Day of Saint John Bosco, the patron of this University! We are all welcome!”, Said the Dean of the UCDB, Fr. Ricardo Carlos. EduardaLorenzoni, a student of Physical Therapy, found the theme of this year’s Reception very interesting. “It shows how the university is a reception in a fun and safe way. That motivates us to continue”, he celebrated.

“The University offers a whole structure with a special welcome. For us who are leaving high school and arriving at a university being welcomed is very important. It was an incredible experience”, commented the freshman Reginaldo Maciel, an academic of Philosophy.Professor Dolores Pereira Ribeiro Coutinho, dressed as one of the characters of the game, along with other collaborators, went from room to room, to make a brief presentation of the Institution to the freshmen. “The most important thing is to tell the student, in his language, that this is his space. A place where he will live a long time to build his dream of being professional and becoming a better human being, and that is what we are offering to them. This feast is the courtyard of Don Bosco, of the Salesian mission”, he said.On Thursday (1st) and Friday (2nd), Acolhida UCDB counted on the blood donation made by students. Stakeholders were taken to the Hemosul in two phases in the morning.

Academics, professors and administrative staff of Don Bosco Catholic University took the welcome of this semester to make a gesture of solidarity: donating blood. For two days, they were taken to Hemosulby microbuses, they went through the sorting and were able to help save lives.

To be a donor, you must obey some criteria: to be over 16 years old, weigh more than 55 kilos and be in good health. If you were interested too, go to the Hemosul and be part of this action!
