“WELCOME TO LONDONWELCOME TO LONDON”Цілі та задачі уроку:

Навчальні:

Активізувати ЛО теми в мовленні учнів,практикувати вживання граматичної структури Past passive, удосконалювати навички читання та розуміння прочитаного, вдосконалювати навички усного мовлення та аудіювання, використовуючи технічні засоби (відеофільм «Лондон»), розвивати навички та вміння працювати з тестовими завданнями (комп’ютерна програма «Англійська мова. Тестові завдання»).

Розвивальні:

Розвивати навички сприйняття англійської мови на слух, розвивати оперативну пам’ять, здатність логічно та послідовно висловлювати свою думку, розвивати культуру спілкування під час роботи в групах, розвивати творче ставлення та пізнавальний інтерес до вивчення англійської мови.

Виховні:

Виховувати комунікативні здібності учнів, формувати уміння слухати й поважати думку співрозмовника, виховувати бажання більше дізнаватися нового та цікавого про країну, мова якої вивчається.

T. Good morning, my dear friends! I’m glad to see you!

p. We are glad to see you too.

T. I see everybody is well. Now we begin our lesson. We’ll have an unusual lesson today. Do you like travelling? OK today we are going to see the sights of one of the oldest and most beautiful cities of the world. Look at these posters and try to guess where shall we go?

You are right. Today we’ll visit London – the capital of Great Britain. First of all I propose you to watch a short slide – show. Look at the screen.

Now, let’s іmaginе that we all are tourists. We are at the travel agency. Let’s listen to our travel agents. They have prepared some short reports about the London sights. Listen to them very attentively and try to guess what place of interest they are talking about. Find these places in your cards and put the right number near it. Remember, you should be polite and attentive to each other while working in groups.

The first travel agent:

It is the greatest work of England’s greatest architect Christopher Wren. Its building was begun in 1675 and it was opened in 1697. I must admit it was finished only in 1710 when Wren was almost 80 years old. Some famous men of Britain have got their memorials in that place. Try to guess what place is it? (St. Paul’s Cathedral)

The second travel agent:

It is he place where members of the British parliament work. It lies on the north bank of the river Thames in the heart of the city of Westminster. At the north end there is a famous clock tower called Big Ben. In fact Big Ben is really the name of the bell in the tower not a clock. The official name of this place is the Palace of Westminster. But we know its other name. Find it. ( the Houses of Parliament)

The third travel agent:

It is a very beautiful palace. It is the official residence of the British monarch. This palace was built in 1705. It is also an art gallery and the greatest tourist attraction. The state rooms of the palace are open to the public each year during August and September. Every day lots of tourists gather near the gates to watch the ceremony of changing the guards. So, what is the name of this palace? (Buckingham Palace)

The fourth travel agent:

It is one of the symbols of London. Every tourist tries to visit this place. It is one of the bridges across the Thames. The construction of this bridge started in 1886 and took eight years. The bridge is built in Victorian Gothic style. It was opened in 1894 by the Prince of Wales and his wife. The bridge is 800 feet in length with 2 towers each 213 feet. This Bridge is especially beautiful at night. You can see it on one of our posters. What is the name of this bridge?( The Tower Bridge)

The fifth travel agent:

It is one of the newest attractions in Great Britain. It was designed by the British architects but it was not made in Britain. The parts of this attraction were built in Holland, Czech Republic, France, Germany and Italy. They were carried to Britain by ship and put together in London. You can watch the Whole London from this attraction and admire the beautiful sights of the British capital. It was opened in 2000 and was dedicated to the millennium. Find this place on one of the posters. (London Eye).

Let’s go on travelling. Open your books on page 142. Here we can see the text. What is the title of the text?

T. Right thank you. Who wants to start our reading?

(Учні читають та перекладають текст в групах. Після ознайомчого читання учні кожної групи отримують завдання. Учні першої групи доповнюють речення за змістом тексту. Учні другої групи повинні визначити правильні та неправильні речення з списку запропонованих. По одному представнику з кожної групи виходять до дошки та демонструють виконані завдання. Учні з протилежної групи повинні проконтролювати правильність виконання завдання використовуючи сигнальні картки. За кожне правильне завдання група отримає по одному балу)

3) Grammar revise .

(Для того, щоб дізнатися ще про дві визначні споруди Лондона учні повинні пригадати утворення пасивного стану англійського дієслова. Для роботи використовується граматична таблиця “Passive Voice”)

Dear friends, we have to revise some grammar rules so that to get to know about one more interesting place in London. Look at the blackboard, please. Here you can see a scheme of one of the grammar constructions we have already learned. You are right it is the passive voice construction. Look here. You should remember the forms of the verb to be (am, is are; was, were; shall be, will be) and the third form of the verb as we call it Participle II. Now open your books on page 140, ex1 . Your task is to open the

brackets and put the verbs in the past simple passive. Tell me what form of the verb to be should be used?

P. We should use was in singular and were in plural.

По одному представнику з кожної групи демонструють виконане завдання , вписуючи дієслова в пасивному стані в текст на дошці. Учні протилежної групи контролюють правильність виконання, використовуючи сигнальні картки. За кожну правильну відповідь нараховується по одному балу)
