Sunday Ser'Yices Under the title "Abraham Lineoln
Goo's Gift to America," Rabbi Brickner will discuss next Sunday, 'firstly, the religion of Abraham Lincoln, even though he did not belong to any churcili, and was generally regarded as a man without religion; and Isecondly, what1 Lincoln would do if he were President today.
Lincoln's genius is like a j'ewel of many facets, and his ,genius was such that there always remains some new facet that needs ,to be brought out and whose light is stimulating and illuminating.
From the Rabbi's Desk The rabbi is in receipt of innumerable
letters from 1Jhe "invisi'ble congregllltion," who have been listening in to the services and lectures the past two Sundays. The following letter from a Christian is typical:
"Your handling of the subject 'Is the Modern W,oman a Failure?' was cerlbainly masterful and fair to both man and woman of these 'modern" times. Quite .by accident I attended services in your temple last E'3ster Sunday. Your lecture at that time was 'Did the Jews Crucify Jesus?' and I consider it the most profitable Easter s'ervice I ever attended. You are doing mueh to dissipate misunder, standing and prejudice between Gentile and Jew. More ,power to you"!
EUCLID AVENUE

Sabbath Services The weekly portion that is read ne:x;t
Saturday, is called Yisl'o, Exodus XVIII-1 through XX-26, and is named after that wise 'Gentile teacher, Jethro, who was the father-in-l-aw of M'oses, and from whom Moses gleaned much wisdom. The Rabbi will discuss our debt to Je1lhro, and also to many other Gentile friends who, stood by Israel in times of great need. , The congregation is again ' reminded to read the Biblical portion for the week, and in that way to familiarize itself with Israel's greatest religious and literary contribution.
