It was a beautiful, sunny weekend for the Fall Classic tournament
this year at Florida Pool! Emory, UCF A, and UCF B joined our own
Orange (A) and Blue (B) teams in playing 10 games over the
weekend. Both of our teams did extremely well with Orange having
a 3-1 win record and Blue having a 2-2 win record. (Check the page
2 for the total outcomes of the tournament.) With Jolyn Swimwear’s
trunk show on deck, we had lots of visitors from other sports clubs
come cheer us on and buy new suits! We were also grateful to
receive 10% of Jolyn’s total sales as a donation to our team.
…Which meant half of our team showed up to Monday night
practice in new Jolyn suits. Because October is Breast Cancer
Awareness Month, our Fall Classic shirts and sales were dedicated
to supporting this cause. 20% of our shirt sales were donated to UF
Health Breast Center. If you’re interested in purchasing a shirt or
seeing the design, check out page 3. We also celebrated Saturday
evening with dinner at Larry’s Giant Subs for a yummy fundraiser.
After such a successful tournament, we are looking forward to
spring season even more!

Fun Fact: My ambition is to be chosen as a contestant on the
show Survivor!!! Holla, Jeff Probst.
Favorite Coach Katie-ism: “It’s an art, not a science.”
I like this quote because it reminds me to be creative and try
something new every time I play.
“My favorite part of every season is the travel tournament. The adventure of traveling to a new
state with my teammates combined with competing against teams outside of our usual Southeast
region always makes for a memorable weekend. I will look back on pictures at the Golden Gate
Bridge in California and videos of our team snow fight in Chicago for years to come and
remember how much I love this sport and my Gator teammates.”
Alumni Weekend Hype Plans
Senior Spotlight: Kathleen Arnold
Alumni Weekend is just around
the corner, on November 7th and
8th. As one of our favorite events in
fall, the team can’t wait for the
tailgate and games! This year will
be especially fun since the football
game coincides with UF
Homecoming against Vanderbilt.
The football game is at 12 pm this
year so we’ll be starting the
tailgate bright and early with
plenty of breakfast foods (and beer
for those over 21)! Make sure to
bring your A-game because there
will be lots of competition with
beer pong, corn hole, and more!
We will also be raffling off some
awesome prizes. We have gift
cards to Metro Diner, Chuy’s and
Chili’s, a Trader Joe gift basket,
designer jewelry and bags, water
polo t-shirts and more. So make
sure you’re on the lookout to win!
On Sunday, we’ll get out of bed and
into the water with games at Florida
Pool starting at 9. Playing the
alumni is always such a great
experience. We’re able to learn
and have fun with some more
experienced players. After the
alumni scrimmage in September,
the baby gators are ready to come
out with vengeance.
All in all, it is looking to be an
amazing weekend for Florida Water
Polo. We always look forward to
bonding with alumni from all years
past and showing how much they
mean to us and our program. More
details, such as location and times,
will be coming out very soon.
We’re counting down the days and
hope the alumni are too!

Speaking of the Future…
UF Women’s Water Polo has joined
the 21st century with a brand new
website!
ufwaterpolo.wordpress.com
One of our players recently designed
it and it’s an excellent resource to
stay up-to-date with our team. On it,
you will find updates about the team,
our tournament schedule, the team
roster and more! Be sure to check it
out and mark your calendars for all
our upcoming events!
As a student-operated sports team, we
would not be successful without the
continuous support from our alumni,
family, and friends. We rely on your
help and are gracious for the
generosity we have always received.
Looking Ahead!
Fall season is when we prepare
and train for our competitive
season in spring. And now we
have something to look forward
to and to push us to train even
harder. The following are the
dates for our Spring College
Water Polo Association (CWPA)
Tournaments.
Knights Open Tournament
January 30-31 @ Lake
Brantley (Orlando)
First CWPA Tournament
February 13-14 @ Florida Gulf
Coast University
Second CWPA Tournament
March 19-20 @ Emory
University
Southeastern CWPA
Championships
April 16-17 @ Florida State
University
We can’t wait for these
tournaments. Fall Classic gave
us a taste of what we’re going to
be up against coming in spring.
Even though we faltered a bit
during our A team game against
UCF A during Fall Classic, we
now know what to expect and
how to train for the games in
spring. We have a ton of new
talent coming in too. We are
working on integrating these
new players to better our team.
So make sure to mark these
dates in your calendars and
come support us!
Shirts for Breast Cancer
October is Breast Cancer
Awareness month, and we
decided to use our tournament
as a chance to give back as a
team. Our Fall Classic shirts had
a Breast Cancer Awareness
theme and we donated 20% of
the shirt sales to UF Health Breast
Center. We raised over $100 to
donate and are still counting. We
still have a couple left over so if
you’re interested in purchasing
one, or contribution a donation,
contact Julia at [email protected].
The shirt design is shown to the
right and are $20 each.
