Your donation to the United Jewish Appeal of Atlantic Canada helps strengthen Jewish life in Canada, Israel and overseas by supporting:

• The delivery of essential programs and services to vulnerable populations - both young and elderly - in Israel and the Former Soviet Union.

• The Coast-to-Coast Partnership2Gether initiative (P2G), formerly Partnership 2000 (P2K), in the Galilee Panhandle region in Northern Israel, which serves communities along the confrontation line on the Lebanese border.

• Programs like Kav Hazinuk and the Centre For Young Adults that improve social, educational and leadership skills in local children.

Your generous donation impacts Jews of all ages in communities throughout the world, wherever Jews are in need.

We fund and support a global network of Jewish organizations that nurture and sustain our Jewish community - of today and tomorrow - caring for people in need here at home, in Israel and around the world.

The Jewish Agency For Israel (JAFI) -- Inspiring Jews worldwide to connect with their people, heritage and land. By strengthening Jewish Identity in youth in the Diaspora and Israel, JAFI is building a stronger global Jewish community.

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) -- Providing food, health care and social services to thousands of poor and elderly Jews living overseas, many of whom would not survive without this critical aid.

Your gift to the UJA of Atlantic Canada helps forge stronger Jewish identities in our younger generations by connecting them to Israel on life changing experiences.

The AJC works with Canada Israel experience which organizes Taglit-Birthright Israel, March of the Living Canada, MASA Israel and high school programs such as Biluim Israel.

These Israel experiences allow our young people to discover their Jewish roots through travel, volunteering and study programs.

Your gift to UJA of Atlantic Canada helps fund programs in Israel and overseas that bring critical aid services right to the doorstep of the elderly.

In russia and eastern europe, we fund more than 160 Hesed centres that provide life-saving medical care, home care and winter relief to thousands of impoverished elderly Jews.

Seniors everywhere are among the most vulnerable, especially during these difficult economic times.

More than 60,000 elderly Jews in eastern europe have been cut from aid programs due to lack of funds. In Israel, many Holocaust survivors live below the poverty line.

Your annual gift enhances Jewish life in Atlantic Canada by helping the AJC:

• Operate Camp Kadimah, which for 70 years has served as a strong Jewish foundation for our children and grandchildren by supporting their Jewish identity and strengthening their love for Israel. Your support will help us enrich lives for generations to come.

• Sponsor 6 Israeli teens as CITs at Camp Kadimah through Partnership2Gether.

• Provide spiritual guidance to small communities in the Atlantic region through the chaplaincy program.

• Subsidize Holocaust education programming and speakers throughout the Atlantic region.

• Provide staff and resources for multicultural and interfaith liaison with the greater Atlantic community.

• represent the Atlantic Jewish community to the Federal Government and various provincial governments that comprise Atlantic Canada.

• represent our region to national Jewish organizations, the embassy of Israel and the Consulate General in Montreal.

• Publish Shalom Magazine.

• represent hundreds of Jewish students on campuses in Atlantic Canada through our relationship with ‘Hillel’ including maintaining the ‘Latner Foundation’ Bayit for student activities in HrM.

Advocacy

We support advocacy efforts across the country.

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs delivers responsive advocacy on behalf of the Canadian Jewish community. The Centre acts in support of Israel and the Jewish people and responds strategically to antisemitic and anti-Israel events and incidents, like the Boycott and Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) initiatives and Israel Apartheid Week.

SUCCEEdWEHELPiSRAEL’SAT-RiSK-yOUTH

In Israel, we’re helping to ensure that today’s youth - the next generation of local community leaders - receive the support and education they need to thrive.

We fund innovative educational and social welfare programs that enable Israeli at-risk-youth to achieve their potential.

Kav Hazinuk is a leadership track that invests in young Israelis living in remote and/or underdeveloped regions for a 10-year program, allowing them to discover their strengths and lay the foundation for a strong future.

Net@, a computer-based community education program, teaches youth invaluable skills that will serve them throughout their lifetime.
