UKA – THE ENERGY FARM DEVELOPERTOGETHER FOR THE ENERGY REVOLUTION
UKA has been planning, building and operating wind farms and their infrastructure
since 1999. The Group has around 50 wind farms connected to the grid and a project
pipeline of more than two gigawatts, making it one of the leading German wind farm
developers. Furthermore, UKA has tapped into new business areas and is also
involved in implementing solar energy projects.
UKA is a full-service company offering all services up to turnkey handover. Afterwards,
its subsidiary UKB Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen Betriebsführung GmbH will ensure
the best possible technical and commercial performance throughout the asset
life-cycle.
The Group currently employs more than 500 people in Meissen, Cottbus, Rostock,
Lohmen (in Mecklenburg), Erfurt, Oldenburg, Bielefeld, Hanover and Grebenstein
(near Kassel). In addition, UKA is currently expanding its business operations in other
European markets. Furthermore, the subsidiary UKA North America LLC is promoting
promising renewable energy projects in the US out of Stuart (USA/Florida).
Close cooperation with leading wind turbine manufacturers allows UKA to make
profitable projects available to the market.

NILS DE BAARPRESIDENT OF SBU VESTAS NORTH & CENTRAL EUROPE
SILVIO SCHAPPLANDOWNER IN GÖLLNITZ
“Contractual agreements in connection with planning and instal-ling wind turbines have been in place for many years now between the town of Uebigau-Wahrenbrück and UKA. During this period, we have come to know UKA and its representatives as reputable, reliable partners. With each project, UKA sought to enter into a dialogue with us right from the start and include our wishes in the plans.”
“As the world’s leading manufacturer of wind turbines, Vestas has supported UKA’s project development business for more than 30 years. This experience has taught us that successfully implementing wind energy projects requires partners with whom you can enjoy long-term relationships built on trust. The UKA Group has been precisely this kind of partner to us for two decades. In a dynamic industry like ours, this represents a unique expression of mutual trust. Thanks to its reliable performance in the market and its forward-thinking, level-headed governance, UKA has laid excellent foundations for future growth.”
“I feel that I am in good hands with UKA thanks to the superb personal support offered. The project and construction processes were explained to me in detail and if I have any questions there is always someone available to answer them.”

SERVICES
UKA – A STRONG PARTNERJOIN THE ENERGY REVOLUTION
The energy revolution is a once-in-a-lifetime social project depending on the support
of various partners. Whether you are a landowner, resident, community, partner or
investor: UKA is the expert at your side. Benefit from our long-standing knowledge
and project experience.
LANDOWNERS
· · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · ·
More and more landowners are benefiting from the energy revolution. By leasing their
farmland and pasture they are creating an additional source of income for themselves
and their families.
Where landowners capitalise on wind turbines, only comparatively little space is
required. The surrounding fields can continue to be cultivated. Wind energy can be
utilised not only in fields, but also in forests and on former landfills and recultivated
mining sites.
If the wind is less strong solar farms utilising photovoltaic technology can be a
viable alternative. Areas producing low agricultural yields can be especially attractive
locations for these projects.
RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITIES
· · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · ·
The energy revolution is the project of the century. It is supported by communities
and residents throughout Germany. Quite rightly, they no longer wish to have the
burdens of energy projects simply imposed on them – they also want the opportunity
to actively participate in local value creation.
UKA is the largest energy farm developer in Germany and takes this into account
during all phases of planning and realisation. Communities and their residents
can work together with UKA and benefit financially and economically from the
collaboration. This not only provides an extra source of revenue, but also creates
independence for the future.

UKA can acquire project rights and offer support at every stage of a wind or solar farm
project as a financially strong partner with proven experience in implementation –
no matter what type of technology is involved. UKA brings excellent capital resources
and proven expertise in complex permitting processes. In addition, the company
benefits from significant cost advantages in tendering processes through long-term
framework agreements with leading wind turbine manufacturers.
UKA secures flexible project finance through its long-standing relationships with
banking partners. Our partners can also rely on attractive cooperation and remu-
neration models, as well as open and committed communication and transparent
documentation.

UKA regularly sells turn-key onshore wind and solar farms to institutional investors,
investment funds, insurance providers and utilities. UKA offers the acquisition of
individual wind and solar farms or a park portfolio, making it possible to build a
portfolio that facilitates diversification in terms of size and geographical location.
In the last three years, a total capacity of around 560 MW has been sold to Allianz
Global Investors, Talanx, Hansa Invest, Aquila, Commerz Real, among others.

The Group has so far installed 344 wind turbines with an overall capacity of 867 MW.
The company has enjoyed particularly strong growth since 2014, during which UKA
has connected more than 500 MW of wind energy to the grid. In doing so, UKA has
commissioned several wind parks in forest areas and thereby gathered considerable
expertise in this area.
UKA is also installing its own electricity infrastructure for the generated electricity
to be fed into the grid with only minimal transmission losses.
