Mid North Coast Swimming Carnival Last Friday 27th February we had students travel to Coffs Harbour for the Mid North Coast Swimming Carnival. What a fantastic effort to make it to this level. Congratulations Emily, Claudia, Dylan, Rhys, Blair and Flynn. Notes Sent Home Week 6 Surfing Woolgoolga Year 6 Sports Day Inspirational Speaker John Coutis Students in 4/5/6 travelled to Coutts Crossing School on Friday 21st Febru- ary to listen to Inspirational Speaker John Coutis share his story. Mr Coutis also spoke about ways to believe in yourself and to support others when they need it. His talk was entertaining with a strong message intertwined - ‘Treat people the way you wish to be treated’. Also we need to ‘Set some goals, write them down and celebrate your achievements- you deserve it.’ Thank you John and Coutts Crossing Public for inviting us. Celebrating Achievements with John Coutis.

POSITIVE BEHAVIOURS FOR LEARNING - PBL Our Core Values across the school are to promote the school community to be SAFE, SUPPORTIVE and RESPECTFUL.

Positive Behaviour for Learning- PBLEach fortnight we will be including a PBL in the Newslet-ter. The PBL posters can be seen displayed around our school. These help promote our core values of being Safe, Supportive and Respectful.

Voluntary Contribution DrawVoluntary Contribution of $60 per family is now due. All families who pay their fees by 9th April will go into a draw to receive 1 of 4 prizes.

The first 2 families drawn out will win a Garmin VivoAc-tive 3 valued at $499.00

The next 2 prizes are Fitbit Inspire and a NSW League supporters shirt- childs. Each prize is worth approxi-mately $160.00.

Four families will be drawn out on Thursday 9th April.

Year 6 into 7 Transition Information EveningStudents and parents are welcome to attend the in-formation evening, which will be held on Tuesday 10th March at South Grafton High School between 5:30-7pm.

The aim of the evening is to provide students and their parents with an opportunity to learn about the tran-sition process and develop an understanding about their child’s high school experience.

It is an opportunity to meet the principal and Year Ad-viser as well as gain information about the curriculum, special school programs and extra-curricular activities, which are available to your student.

Student scholarships and Platinum class selection will be explained. Important details surrounding the culture of the school including welfare, support, achievements and other opportunities will be discussed. There will also be an opportunity to take a tour of the school and view the facilities.

Premier’s Reading ChallengeThe Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely. The challenge begins today 2nd March and finishes Friday 25th August.

K-2 need to complete 30 books, 25 PRC books and 5 personal choice books.

Years 3-6 need to complete 20 books, 15 PRC and 5 personal choice. Please go to the website for more in-formation.

Book BuddiesOnce a week our K/1 and 4/5/6 students come togeth-er to read, share their love of books and learn.
