ULTERION® 8080 DURABLE PRESS RESIN
Low concentrations perform effectively giving excellent shrinkage control and appearance ratings.
Wide choice of cure conditions provides opportunity to increase efficiency of finishing range while maintaining fabric performance.
Excellent durability to laundering; maintains shrinkage control and appearance over extended washings, both home and industrial.
Chlorine retention is low avoiding physical damage and discoloration when fabric is laundered and bleached.
Highly concentrated - reduces shipping and usage costs
Product Description Ulterion® 8080 is a commercially pure, concentrated, unbuffered glyoxal-based reactant. It can be used with a variety of accelerators in pre-cure finishing processes. Ulterion® 8080 reactant may be cured over a wide range of cure conditions from 290°F to 410°F (143°C – 210°C). Typical Properties

Handling / Storage Stability Ulterion® 8080 should be used in a well ventilated working area. Wear suitable clothing and impervious gloves to prevent skin contact. Use chemical splash-proof goggles for operations where face and eye contact can occur. Use of a respirator is recommended where exposures exceed PEL or are unknown. In case of spill, cover the material with an inert absorbent, sweep up and place in a waste disposal container. Flush the area well with water. Storage stability is at least 6 months at 100°F (38°C). Will remain fluid and perform satisfactorily if held between 15°F (-10°C) and 120°F (49°C), but will darken slowly if held above 90°F (32°C). Product Safety Liquid may be irritating to the skin, eyes and other tissues. Repeated dermal exposure may cause irritation or an allergic skin reaction. Vapor inhalation may cause irritation of the

ULTERION® 8080 DURABLE PRESS RESIN
Application Methods Make sure fabrics treated with Ulterion® 8080 reactant are neutral and relatively free of other processing agents. The presence of residual alkalinity in excess of 0.05% NaOH may cause yellowing and reduced shrinkage control. Recommended Cure Conditions Time and temperature are optional depending upon equipment, although a minimum temperature of 325°F (163°C) is recommended for cure. Recommended Bath Preparation Add diluted wetting agent to about 50 gal. of
water at 70°F - 110°F (21°C – 43°C). Add Ulterion® 8080 reactant, with thorough
stirring. Dilute the softener(s) with warm water and
add to bath with stirring. Dilute the accelerator 1:1 with water and add
to the bath with stirring. Bulk to 100 gallons. Recommendations for Successful Resin Finishing Fabric must be suitable for end use. Unfinished fabric tensile >30% of the
finished tensile. Bleached and dyed fabric must be clean and
absorbent. Fabric alkalinity <0.05% as NaOH. Fabric pH should be 6.5-7.5. Wetting speed <= 5 sec. @ 70-80°F. Use reactant/cat stable components. Use minimum tension in finishing. Use accurate finish mixing procedures. Control of all major variables in process. Wet-pick-up should be 60 - 75% OWG at the
resin pad.
