Volume 5, Number 36 LOVE God and Others LEARN & Grow in Faith LIVE Your Faith by Serving
Kids First is open Monday through Friday from 6 am to 6 pm. We
accept full time children ages 2 months to 10 years. In addition, we
accept state paid tuition and are inspected by the state on a regular
basis. An afternoon snack and two meals are provided for all-day
children. Please call 816-322-9603 for more information.
Thanks for sharing in the commitment to provide weekend food for 35
Gladden Elementary students who would otherwise go with out enough to
eat. $200 per child per year seems like a small price for such a great benefit
to the child. You have donated $3298.17 to date of the $7000 we need.
If you would like to give a monetary donation to help us fund this much
needed program, you may drop your donation in the offering plate on
Sunday morning (clearly notate that it is for “backsnack”), or mail a check to
our office at PO Box 167, Belton, MO 64012, or click here to donate online
and enter your contribution in the BackSnack Fund field on the donation
page. Thanks for caring so much about feeding Belton’s kids!
Thanks also to the loyal team of volunteers who pickup and deliver the food
for the backpacks each week to Gladden Elementary!

UMCmarket.org 1. OUR STORES ARE AWESOME!
Shop online through UMCmarket.org. Book your travel, shop for family
get-togethers, or purchase your everyday needs and donate to your
church at the same time! (Search for “Crossroads in Belton” when you sign
up for the first time.) 2. ITS TOTALLY EASY!
Using the Easy Give Button App is the easiest way for you to shop and
donate. Once it’s downloaded, you will see the UMC Cross and Flame icon
in your browser toolbar. This will allow you to shop directly at store websites
and let you know that you are connected. Research shows that members
who download the Easy Give Button generate more than double the
amount of donations to their church. 3. GIVING FEELS GREAT!
Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35. Every
time you shop through UMCmarket you have the opportunity to give back
to your local church to help the mission. It feels great to be able to give to
the Lord from something you do everyday like shopping for your busy life
needs.
NO DRIVE-UP RECYCLE BINS
We are no longer receiving income from
our newspaper recycling bins, so we will
be removing them from
the church lot.
We hope you will
continue to recycle at an
alternate location.
It Takes a Village
(Submitted by Cherrie Fleming)
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Many thanks go to the cleaning crew that tackled the hideous job of
cleaning our Crossroads kitchen last weekend! Have you noticed its
gleaming, clean look and smell? Many hours of hard work were put in
over four days last week to accomplish the task.
The crew was headed up by Jodi Whitaker,
"Chief Cook and Bottle Washer" of Kids First and
Karen Kenslow, Kids First Staff person. They were
joined by Kids First staff, UMW and other church
women. Together they worked to empty and
store away the entire contents of the kitchen.
After many hours of cleaning, mostly by Jodi and
Karen, the kitchen was reassembled for use early
Monday morning.
Thanks everyone and a special thanks to Jodi
Whitaker and Karen Kenslow for your stupendous
work!!

CrossRoads hosts an annual Craft Festival each fall to raise funds for our
children’s ministry. It has grown over the years, and we now have room for
approximately 45 booths as we welcome local and regional vendors and
crafters to our event. There will be
children’s activities, such as crafts and
games, available as well. This year’s
event will be on Saturday, November 8th,
from 9am to 3pm.
Registration info is available online at
www.crossroads-umc.com. If you prefer
to download a form and mail it in, you
will find it on our web site or contact
Cindy Jones at [email protected].
